Tried a PCP air rifle for the first time.

Ordered a Benjamin Kratos from Airgun Revisions. Nice wood stock. Never shot a pcp until today. These Walmart pellets is all I had so I'm happy. Side cock 12rd magazine can put some lead down range in a hurry. Man is it quiet. Was shooting about 27yds. 12 shot group.

Be careful. It's a slippery slope of fun. Pcp's are very addicting but you'll have a smile on your face the hold time....so I guess it's not so bad.
I've been telling myself for years I want to narrow down my PCP collection to just two but it's never happened. The closest I got was four.

I still can't believe how quiet, but it does have a moderator made in with barrel shroud. Most of what I could hear was a pinging from the tank and the pellet impact. While I didn't chrono it, it hit the small spinning target (in the ditch just before the big dirt area in pic) with a thump much harder than my Gamo springer. With no noise it just sounds weak.

I bought a Benjamin Marauder PCP Field & Target (Regulated) with the Lothar Walther barrel in .22Cal about two (2) years ago. I probably put 200 pellets through it a week. Couldn’t be happier with the purchase.

If this is your first PCP, you chosen a good platform. I would suggest shooting it for at least 6 months and if you still enjoy shooting it, I would replace the aluminum bottle with a carbon fiber bottle and send it to Troy Hammer for a custom tune. Troy will setup the Kratos to how you want it. When you get it back from Troy, the Kratos will shoot just as good as anything out there.

Rich at airgun revision actually put a spring tune in it as well as the stock screw with the hole in it to let air escape from the hammer bore. I've got to find an adapter to fill from a Scott SCBA bottle as I have full access to the air pump/cascade at fire department. Where on tune is better than another I wouldn't have a clue. Thanks for that info about Troy Hammer.

Try. This place for fire house connections near bottom of page.

I have a Kratos in 22 cal also, it was my first PCP and they shoot pretty dang good for the money. I have a couple FX rifles but still shoot my Kratos. It lives in my shop and is deadly at 80yds, 7 MOA up from 50 yd zero. Thumped a crow with mine at 75yds just last week.
I shoot it nearly every week at something.

Ha, glad you’re enjoying it. Seems like you have that one pretty well sorted already.
Airguns are capable of darn good accuracy but one wrong whiff of air movement sends them flying.

I suggest you try a sampler of JSB or FX pellets (basically the same things) and you will probably see an improvement.

Thanks. JSB seems popular. Rich from Airgun revisions said these Krale built guns like Air Arms and he will start offering them as an add on. Guess it's like "powder burners", got to try different combinations.

Those CPHP pellets are a good standard, kinda like the SMK bullets. They always shoot good, occasionally shoot great in some guns, but are always available and reasonably priced. When I had all my airguns those are what I always did initial testing with. I did like RWS pellets for accuracy work, though.

And from the darkside, lol, at 27 yards a good Springer will equal that at minimum. No, not the first time you shoot it. Enjoy your PCP. Maybe when you get bored with it you will try the challenge of a Springer. Sure is nice not to be cleaning barrels and brass isn't it.

Well I dont have a decent springer. My Gamo just sux. That forward recoil takes some getting used to. I think a scope that will focus may help a lot
