I posted recently about a 6 Dasher barrel which I had going sort of OK with 103gn Copperheads in hot weather, but TERRIBLE with 105 Hybrids. I since found out that the barrel was actually a 10" twist, not 8" twist as I was told.
Today it was cooler weather and I tried the 95gn VLDs and 88gn HighBC flat base at 500yds. This time with cooler, denser air, even the 95gn VLDs went terrible, but the Berger 88gn HighBC Flat base bullets went great.
Some had asked me to post how the 95s went in a 10" twist. It seems they are very marginal in this twist. They MIGHT work in hot weather, maybe, but I wont be using them anymore in this barrel.
I had intended this barrel to be a 1000yd LG barrel with a brake, but I think it will be my 300-500yd barrel instead.
