I havent tried 790s above 65. Might have to give that a try.

Well, here we are again about a year later.
Had 350 J4 .925's left over from a bucket so decided today would be a good time to clean the slate on those. Jackets were lubed and tumbled appropriately, cores were stuffed in the jackets and then seated in a Blackmon core seating die that's been hand lapped to be a better match for the Robinett carbide point die. After that, the big Vlasic pickle jar was cleaned thoroughly with 91% alcohol. The jar was then lubed with the appropriate amount of lube for the point up process and the core seated jackets tumbled for 45 minutes. After letting them normalize for 24-48 hours, it'll be time to do the fun part.
There's a couple of new point up punches to try, so 50 of these will be pulled aside to work that out.

The lube I make is the original Rich Griffin recipe passed to me by Randy Robinett:
- 5 parts lab grade anhydrous lanolin
- 1 part pure Neet's Foot Oil
- Measure by volume, not weight
- Warm mix in microwave, stirring evenly.
After it cools, put it in sealed jars, pill bottles, etc. Visit your favorite barista and score some long wooden coffee stirrers to put it on your waxed paper. Leave a good tip.
Lots of lube recipes that work...this is just one of many.

Al,you are correct, there are numerous mixtures that different shooters use, they all seem to work.
I settled in to just plain lanolin. You can get it at any drugstore, it is easy to weigh down to tenths of a grain, and makes great bullets.
Brake cleaner cleans it out of my lube jar easily.
One thing I do that many seem to avoid is I clean the lube jar every time. I don’t leave it “seasoned”, as some do. Arriving at the exact amount of lube for the exact number of jackets each time is important.

Absolutely. I'm a clean freak when it comes to my tumbling jars. Besides the residual lube, it's amazing the amount of minute copper swarf you find.

Wow. I’ve extracted some notes from these 50!! pages over the past few weeks. HUGE thanks to everyone here for upholding the friendly helpful wannahelpanyonedobettah Gunny Community tradition I first ran into when learning 4-position smallbore.
In partnership with a guy who’s super actively recruiting new shooters, we picked up a buncha stuff from an estate but haven’t found the 6mm BT dies the dearly departed had apparently used over the years (can’t ask if he still had them, ya know, but the BT bullets he had made were pretty nice).
My guy really prefers boattails, so our burning question of the day is where can we source out some BT dies? New or used, we’re interested. Not sure if the FB bullets I’m almost ready to test will make him not care about boattails.
Short range out to 200 yards.

Today's project was making this stop for the linkage on the George Ulrich converted Lee Classic Cast press. The idea was shamelessly stolen from Randy Robinett. 
I'll get a chance later this week to try it out. Prior to this, the press ram would dwell a bit at the top before moving a slight bit lower. Even w/o any sort of stop, the base-to-ogive was always within .0015-.002 from lot to lot.
If I don't like the stop, I can always go back to not using the stop.
