Time for scale upgrade

i think some people do not realize how hard it is to do that...a good recommendation, but out of his price range by a bunch

Good morning All
Thank you all for your replys, and or suggestions, I do appreciate all of the collective experience.
My son has his Chargemaster link in my reloading room, ( in fact now that I think about it all of his reloading stuff is in my reloading room ) good piece of equipment, does a good job. I never mentioned that as it not pertinent as to the reasoning in looking for another scale. So much is lost in communication here on the forum, either because not enough information is entered in, or someone jumps to a conclusion that this or that is what the OP is referring to. When I post about something I have no intentions of getting anything started or creating some type of ruckus, simply asking a question, and trying to enter as much specific information as needed.
This is a great forum , a wealth of information, and experience, so much can be learned from all of those who have already been there or done that. When you dont know what you dont know is when you get in trouble. My way of thinking is if you dont learn something new every day it was a wasted day.

I see many are happy with +/- 0.1 grain with cheaper scales or dispensers.
I'm probably not good enough to actually see the difference on an F-class target at 600 but think eliminating powder charge from the load makes me feel better. Hopefully I'll get good enough to see the difference
I bought a used old model Lyman Gen 5, advertised as +/- 0.1 grain and it meets that performance mark.
Later models or other brands are probably much better. Mine does not have Blutooth
I have yet to see a charge outside 0.1 grain. Charges dumped onto a scale pan that are a few hundredths of a grain high or low are "adjusted" prior to going into the case. Takes some extra time, but charge weight variations won't be the cause of a dropped point.
20 drops @ 31.5 grains of SB 6.5 (very fine ball powder), checked against my A&D EJ-54D2, gave me:
Min 31.42 gr,
Max 31.56 gr,
ES 0.14 gr,
Mean 31.48 gr,
SD 0.045 gr.

IF YOU ARE BUYING A MODERN SCALE THAT DOES NOT HAVE MAGNETIC DAMPENING, you will be wasting time waiting on the scale to settle to a reading
Not that I am recommending a undamped scale but if you can eliminate parallax by using a web cam or your phone to view the pointer and the scale that it points to, if the swing is an equal number of units up and down from the zero mark, your scale is balanced.

Yes, I can 100% assure you that I saw a great increase in my reloading consistency over the past 2 weeks going from a 10-10 scale to the creedmore scale. Thar biggest consistency increase was with ball powders.
Also with that was a large increase in my confidence in reloading charges. I also should mention my time spent throwing charges has been reduced as well.

I have the A&D EJ-123. It's in your price range ($330). I've been very happy with it. Is does not have the data port and it sometimes has a bit of drift but nothing worth worrying about. Accurate to 0.01grains.
I would buy it again for sure. I could not find anything less expensive that I have faith in it you are going for high accuracy.
Otherwise my $40 Frankford arsonal scale it is fine if close enough is good enough
