For almost 50 years my Caribou rifle was a 7x57AI. It got great velocity with a 160gr. NP and a case full of H4350 (unobtanium)

Anyway, you wouldn't have to modify anything to make it feed and with the long action, you could chamber it so that you could seat the bullets ahead of the dreaded "Donut". It is a relatively mild recoiling cartridge and it was one of Ackley's most successful improvements. Making brass was just enough of a project to keep me interested.
