Thoughts on 6BR-AI reamer dimensions.

This print shows a lead with 2degree 30min
Most others show a 1-30
I'm not sure what the thought is there
All of my long range reamers have a 2.5 degree lead, I find them more consistent performers. Originally I tested with VLD style bullets with good results so tried with SMK's and 108 BT's and had great results with those as well. It maybe a headspace (the one between the ears) thing but it certainly doesn't hurt performance.

Well even thought the current Ackley is a great idea I just shortened mine up 62 thousands an I like what iam seeing on paper an load density I always ran my 6mm dasher at 2970 fps any way I am getting the same velocity node the gun wants to shoot with about 1.4 grs less powder. PS my measurement at 2oo line is about .471 an some changeView attachment 997716

Did that turn out very close to a BRDX?

Just to clarify, do you mean BRX or BRDX? I believe the BRX has a neck/shoulder junction in the same place as a Dasher, but the BRDX is only a little longer than a 6BR.

I have a question about sizing die reamers. If your let's say .4695 at the .200 line and .463 at the shoulder what are the target measurements for a properly sized case?

Those would be pretty bad numbers on a finish reamer. Custom die for sure in that case. I want .002" at the shoulder and minimum .0005" at .2" of actual sizing. You have to take the brass down smaller as it will spring back. How much? Good question.
.460 at the shoulder and .4714 at .2" works about perfect with a Harrell's D2.5 die. If your chamber measures .4695" there aint a die out there that I know of thats going to work for you.

.008" per inch body taper is needed for proper extraction.

I've got some sticky bolt lift at 31.5gr Varget in my BR-AI. I'm not sure it's related to pressure is why I'm asking. Let me re measure

.470 at .2" and .4625 at the shoulder. My sizing die sizes to .4695 and .460 at the shoulder. anything there that could cause a sticky bolt?

That sounds ok. What barrel? Tried any other powders or lots? Neck clearance? Can a bullet side into a fired case neck?

You will need a custom FL size die with .470" @ .200". No way your die will work correctly. Alex has given good .200" line suggestions on the reamer, yours is very tight at .200" and will need a custom die for best results.
