This will make you call "BS"

Check out some of the bids and offers on primers and powder on Gunbroker. 1 # Varget, $99.00, Primers at $50.00-90.00 per 1000, Unbelievable, just wait a few months and I hope the manufacturers do not take this a market value and raise all their pricing to reflect this insanity, I truly believe there are way too many people purchasing firearms now that really do not have the wherewithall to own a firearm or need to participate in the reloading process. Read a story on another site(HIDE) that a guy bot a 22 rifle and was clearing the shelves of 22 mag ammo for his new rifle, I have a neighbor that was at Scheels, only five pistols in inventory and he was going to buy the 50 cal??? Desert Eagle for $2000., he called my son regarding the purchase to inquire as to what type of pistol he was buying, now I will tell you this is the last guy you want buying a gun, no knowledge whatsoever regarding firearms. I am astounded at what is happening.

No surprise at the ignorance of our population. You want the answer...

Who did we elect President?

It's crazy around here, no ammo, no powder, bullets or primers. There are people on a local site that has free adds selling .22 longs for $10 for 50, and people are buying them. AR type rifles are going for $1800-$3000, idiots. There will be some serious buyers remorse if it ever gets back to normal.

ebay is as bad, if it's anything to do with an "AR" anything.....

10 round mags selling for over a $100 each is......exactly what CaptMel was talking about.

And there are more of the idiots born every day.

Hopefully they won't poses firearms!
Hopefully they won't be able to vote!
Hopefully they won't be able to reproduce!

I went to a local gun show Saturday, mainly to look around. At one booth that is usually there and sells just factory ammo, had 50 round boxes of Remington 9mm for $99.95 per box. Another table had a 1000 round ammo can of reloaded 9mm for $600.

This stuff amazes me.

My shooting partners and I have started shooting one shot competitions instead of groups. If this stuff takes a long time to settle down gonna make sure I do not run out of supplies. Shot all day saturday and didn't use but 20 rds. Still had loads of fun.

I would love to be practicing before the match season starts next month but I'm afraid that I'll run out of loaded rounds and components before this crap ends. I won't be able to go to Perry if I cannot come up with at least some Varget and by that time probably some Bergers.

This sucks,

Jeff

That's becoming normal. Bruno's has Primers in stock right now. $55 for standard and $60 for match per 1000.

Shooters in our area are worried. Several have already cut back shooting on their practice days. Instead of the normal 66 rounds, they may shoot 22 or maybe 44 rounds.

I'm shooting my 223 and 6br to make my supplies last.

$59.95 per K primers from Bruno's. HMMMMM. I thought Gunbrokers was laughable, I do not think any of those sellers were going to ship with Haz Mat, just reg shipping. Not my ideas but theirs. I have a local retired guy that is selling out of his home , and has been for 20+ yrs, reloading supplies. He is selling only to current or past customers with 1K limits on primers and 1 lb of each of powder and has a good selection of powder, Varget, 748, RL 15, H4350, VV, all at normal pricing. I pd $23.00 for 748 and CCI 450 for 27.50. Thanks to these type of providers. Keep these guys in business, even tho you may save a buck or two thru a Mail Order, it is your support that keep these small Mom and Pop places in business. I am not, nor have I ever been fond of OPPORTUNISTS, and like them and their business model even less now.

I believe Bruno's was including Free Haz Mat and Free shipping with their primers.

If you buy 25,000.

I think if I was buying that many I would rather pay around $33 per 1k at Powder Valley and pay about $37 in HazMat & shipping.

That's what I did X2 I am not cutting back on practice and I am making all my matches!!! I never thought I would spend $5.00 for a Gallon of diesel But I have, I bought my first house for $28000 in 1982, just bought a 7 year old diesel 1 ton pickup for $31000, I bought my first can of chewing tobacco in 1976 for $.030 I think in Washington state it is over $5.00 now, Primers used to be $10.00 per thousand, you will never see that again either, things will drop if you want to wait but they will never be cheaper then they were a few month back and probably will be higher because the suppliers know through this whole mess that we WILL pay whatever to keep shooting, keep driving, keep sleeping in out own bed under our own roof, etc, etc, etc!!!! so either shut up and pay so you can shoot,...or hold off till next year, or the year after,...or whenever! Remember were the cause of a lot of this,...................................

And yes it is our faults!!!! I voted , maybe you did also, But I know a lot of conservative people that will say my vote don't count!!!! or any other excuse they can think of so they don't go to the booth,...well let me tell you my friends there wasn't a grey hound bus full of liberals that didn't make it to the poll's all across this country!! putting who they want in office is important to them!!! I used to, I said USED to work in a mom and pop sawmill, having conservatives in office was imperative to keep our doors open, I took a poll with all employees for the last five years we were open, about 5 employees including myself!!! voted in 08 we closed in 09, now I work for a bullet factory, were so far behind we will never catch up,...yet most there don't vote either!!

I wish you all the best, happy shooting, make your shots count,..hope to see ya on the line this year.
Wayne.

Hi Wayne

I agree that prices keep going up and hardly ever back down for any length of time. One thing that COULD happen is with the flood of buying that has gone on in the last few months is that over a time frame of one year or two the Ordinary folks or prepers who ran out and bought up all things AR and loading will be sitting in there garage for too long and they reintroduce it back onto the market at current market value taking a lose on there Panic buy. If the Market value stays steady (?) ish over the next year or so with no huge jump in price, there is a good chance the reintroduced products flooding back into the market will keep the market price at that level like it did in 2008.
I believe all of us here are frequent shooters and there is no sin in having a years worth of supplies on hand.

RussT
This too will pass

Wayne, I hope you didn't pay Bruno's new price of $59.95 per 1k for 50,000 primers just to get free shipping. :) Because there are lots better deals out there.

A year ago when I was at Bruno's, I paid $33 per 1000 for those same primers. Looks to me like our beloved (by some) President is not only the best gun salesman around, he's becoming a manufacturers salesman as well. But don't worry, he's out to take care of us all....yeah right! Only problem is, his type of "care" isn't what I want and damn sure don't want it.
