Thinking about picking up a 222. rem

Stumbled across a real nice little anschutz 900 in 222. rem and the thing shoots like a dream, fantastic little groups with a beautiful trigger. The price is fair but i just dont know what ill use it for. I have a 204. ruger and a 243. win. The 222. rem i guess i would use as a back up or even a fun little plinker. I do reload already so its not like im worried about ammo prices, or availability!

Anyone want to through some opinions on the caliber and what you guys think of it?

For lots of years, the 222 was the king, and it's still a hell of a accurate shooter for those of use that like the oldies..... 52ish grain bullets and a little H-4198 and your good to go....

I have a mini- Mauser in .222 and it is very accurate. 1/2" groups with 40 gr v-Max's. I could not get it to shoot 50 grain with any accuracy. I also have a . 221 Fireball and just purchased a .17 Hornet. All of the small caliber center fires are fun to shoot. Can't have too many of them.

I`ve Always wanted a .222 to launch the 40gr. bullets at light speed with..............

The .222 is just great fun, cheap to shoot, very accurate, excellent to practice shooting skills, almost eternal barrel life, very light recoil and and and......
Preacher mentioned 52 gr Bergers and H 4198.....please forgive him as I know he meant a little VVN 133................................................................lol

The 222 was yesteryear's top dog. Since around 1975 the 6PPC became king of the hill. Check it out: http://www.accurateshooter.com/cartridge-guides/6mmppc/ :)
