The Unreachables

In the past couple of months I too have experienced the fallout of Midway packages getting "hung up" between the UPS and the very NOT so bright sure post crap. The packages make it to Fayetteville N C and for some odd reason cannot find their way to Shallotte N C without me complaining to Midway and UPS which is still another bunch of junk. As mentioned u can only talk to a robot at UPS and only e-mail at Midway. Have received packages 5 to 10 days late due to the craziness between the two.
 
Years ago I lived in an unincorporated part of North Texas in “Haslet” Texas. This is 17 miles north of Fort Worth. I once bid and won something on EBay and it was coming from NE Dallas area. The seller provided the Shipping and tracking information. I watched it go through the UPS system...for a week! It went all of 50 miles. Everything took an additional 3 days regardless of UPS or Post Office. Fed Ex was a little better probably because they had a major hub at Alliance Airport. Frustrating.
 
the shipping times right now are horrible. I bought a couple items on the auction site awhile ago. They were located in Ohio and I am in lower Michigan. It took just over 2 weeks to get them. Its usually 2 or 3 days.
Heck my order from mcmaster took 4 days last week. Its generally the next day for me.

Ordered a Trigger from Ohio, went to Texas for 9days ? Came to me in Oregon in 11 days ? Priority Mail ?
Sent a Bank Check Priority Mail for my Mini Lost in La La ?

I went to the post office asked about insurance on the second check , You can’t insure a check ? I asked about Priority Mail taking 16 days ? The Gentleman behind the counter pointed over his head at the signs !
They no longer say 3 Day ? I said then what is the deal with Priority? Reply better chance of getting it there?
Took that check to Fed-X $9 in 3days .
$18.50 at the Post Office and lost .
My Federal Taxes are now sleeping in Utah?
 
Had an unbelievable shipping experience just today. Ordered a part from Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) and received almost an instantaneous order acknowledgment via email at 1:13PM. A minute later at 1:14PM received a credit card processed acknowledgment and at 1:20PM received an order shipped email. It remains to be seen when I'll actual get the part now that it is in the USPS system but I can't say I've ever gone from order received to shipped in under 10 minutes. Amazing!
 
Shoes supposed to be 2 weeks - 3 days
Scope supposed to be 3 weeks - 6 days
It does happen, but lately the overdue orders far exceed the ones that are on time. Hard to blame it all on the virus.
 
Biggest problem is with everybody locked up at home and EVERYBODY ordering stuff online, USPS and UPS are overloaded. Just sent a First Class Flat Rate Envelope to Oregon from Nor Cal. 2 maybe 3 or 4 days at most? Tracking showed it was logged from our local PO on the 2nd.. That's it, nothing more. Two weeks and tracking FINALLY showed that it was in Seattle? Just delivered yesterday and as expected, the person that it was shipped to NEVER said SQUAT. Would have been nice if they at least said "got it. Thank You".:(

I shipped a receiver and two barrels from Simpsonville SC to McQueeney TX on 5/4. It went to the PO in Greenville SC (about 15 miles) and sat there until 5/9. Current tracking shows that it left Greenville on 5/9 and that is all that is available on the tracking data. I have called the persons that I mailed to but they have not received it.

Don't you think 14+ days is a little excessive!!!
 
Update. Saturday the 16th I sent a rather stern email to the president of Midway outlining my complete inability to find out anything about my purchase on the 29th of April. I let him know in no uncertain terms exactly what I thought of their mixed agency shipping. I acknowledged that he was most likely very busy so possibly he could hand this off to someone who could light a fire under somebody's backside and tell me where my paid for reloading die is. Much to my surprise, first thing Monday morning I got an email from "Isabelle" in customer service who informed me that she was reaching out to me on behalf of the company president. She apologized for my lost shipment and asked if I wished to re-order or receive a refund. I responded that I needed the die so please re-order it. I verified my address as was requested and within a few minutes I got another email from her telling me my order was being processed. A few minutes after that email I got another one telling me my order has been shipped via UPS including the tracking # and the delivery date. I responded with a thank you and that in the event the original package ever shows up that I would reach out for instructions as to how to proceed from there.
In my book that's pretty darn good customer service. I am happy to see that folks here on this forum didn't take my original post as me bashing Midway as that absolutely was not my intent. They got my order out ASAP and their carriers let them down. I suggested to the company president that they take a hard look at their so-called "economy" shipping as it is less than stellar. Anyway, Midway made it right and that's what matters to me and I will continue to order from them in the future however I won't be using the economy shipping feature again unless some changes are made. It's all good. ;)
 
Still waiting on my Berger 140's from Midway, that are now a week late. No more surepost for me, I will pay the extra. The package seems to have been picked up by UPS then poof.
 
Ok guys, I will tell you the secret to getting around Midway's surepost. The first time they sent my order that way, it took almost a month to get here. So now, anytime I order from Midway I add a small box of .22 ammo to my order. The post office cannot ship ammo so the order comes UPS with no extra charge. Works like a charm!
 
Surprise, surprise drill Sergeant!! The die I ordered from Midway on April 29th finally arrived today (July 3rd) in pristine shape! Thanks to the superior efforts of UPS and USPS it only took two months to go from Columbia, MO to Dallas, TX.

Kudos to the staff ( who were very professional) at Midway as they shipped me a replacement die which I received in two days after I sent a rather scathing email to their president telling him what I thought about multiple agency shipping. Trying to put a dollar value on customer satisfaction is a big mistake. This mixed agency shipping is a recipe for pissed off customers and in the long run it will end up costing them more than if they had just shipped the die by USPS and been done with it. Simple is good.
 
With the amount of ordering by mail because of covid I would think the post office should be flush with money and able to hire enough temp help to get the stuff to our door.
 
I have just the opposite, with in the last 2 weeks I have order a couple items, with in hours I have a email saying order received and they are getting ready to ship, then again with in hours email says products shipped.
Next thing I know, from 2-4 days the product is in my post office box. Could not ask for any better service and/or speed on the delivery from Midway.
 
On April 29th I ordered a die from Midway. On April 30th I was notified it had shipped. I waited a couple of days before I checked my order status. It stated the package was picked up by UPS and that it was in transit. As of today the tracking information is exactly the same. Just says check back later. At this point, I have no idea who has my package as I have been unsuccessful in finding out any more information from either Midway, UPS or the USPS. So it appears that my die is in the ozone somewhere and I can't call, email or text anybody anywhere to find out anything about it. This is no friggin' way to run an airline. This half UPS, half USPS delivery system is a mess. I send out several packages every day via USPS Priority Mail and in the last ten years I have had only one problem. Please, just put my stuff in a Flat Rate box, charge me the shipping and mail it. This mixing of two different delivery systems to supposedly save a couple bucks is a recipe for disaster and a great way to lose business. Fourteen days to get one reloading die (which I still don't have) from Columbia, MO to Dallas, TX is unacceptable in any scenario. I could have walked up there and picked it up by now and I'm an old man. I wouldn't be so ticked about this if I could talk to a warm body somewhere who would simply say I'm sorry for the delay but rest assured we will get it to you ASAP. Not happening because they're not taking any phone calls. All you can talk to is a robot who sends you right back to where you started. I'm dizzy!

So, how many others on this forum have experienced or are going through the same thing? Just curious. Sorry for the rant.
It usually takes me 7 to 8 days to get a package from Brownells less than 100 miles
 
I hate UPS [ooops] SurePost.Takes an extra day to get here, cuz they have to take it to the PO. I try to do USPS if I can.

Amazon is worse. I get a pop up saying "This Item can't be shipped to your address." When using my P.O. Box number. Ihave to change it to my street addy and it still goes to my box.
 
I think it depends on where your at. Sounds like most areas have crappy union usps post office workers! It all started when usps was losing all that money so ups started dropping off packages to usps so they can get a cut!! More Obama socialism! Our post office is the same way. I try my best not to use them!
