"The Ultimate" Long Range Benchrest Match

If I’m reading this correctly, about 170 rounds if you’re running with the big dogs?
Warm up fun match- 5rds plus sighter

16 target agg match- 80 rds plus sighters

Sudden death showdown- 20 rds plus sighters if you make the second cut.

So to answer your question, 200rds or a little over should do it, it all depends on how many sighters a guy decides to use.
Details will follow soon,

Idea is very interesting. The timing may be awful.

In light of the FACT there are NO components available - primers and powder- plus a real shortage on some bullets, many shooters will not be able to participate. Guessing you would need to commit a barrel, 400 rds of ammo, event fees and living/travel fees to do this match. I see it as a solid $2,000 expense for most.

If you can afford that much for a week of shooting fun, have the components and time, then it would be wonderful. Now in light of the political upheaval coming with its' economic consequences, I suggest the timing is suspect to make a good idea into a success for many.

Sure hope I am wrong.

How is that any different when planning to travel for any other "national level" match?

No different except now there are NO components available and none coming available.

My thoughts are our shooting sports are severely impacted by current political issues. It is bad and my latest information, not substantiated, is worse.

The biggest "complaint" I heard when I played match director is that there was not enough shooting to make the trip worth while. This is what a National event should look like IMO. Yes, components are tough to find but I don't see a reason to quit living. If anyone SERIOUSLY can not go to this event due to lack of components, you let us know and I know this community will get you the powder/primers/bullets/ext you need. I will give up what I have if thats the only thing stopping you and Im not the only one.

You want to see real joke? Look at the bottom of this page where they advertise from Brownells' ..."Ammo In Stock & AVAILABLE"

Click on it and look. We are in crisis mode.

Why would you always depend on someone else to have what you need. A shortage of ammo and components Is nothing new, we’ve seen it a couple times now and preparing for next year should be done well in advance. If you got caught with nothing to shoot I would gladly help you out to get you to a match... I’m not going to end up not being able to go, learned my lesson last time!

I'd love to come if I am able. 22 lbs is kind of awkward through. My LG is 17 and my HG will be 27-29. That said, maybe my temporary wooden stock will get me close to 22 lbs.

Shoot the light gun, I’m betting there will be several doing the same.
Agree, shoot the LG. Plenty of people use LG for HG. Some even make an NBRSA rifle and use it in IBS LG and HG. Shoot the rifle you have setup and working well. You'll do great.
