The longrange Rendezvous / VaporTrailValley

Meanwhile in this parched piece of paradise we call home, it’s a muggy 6% RH, but hey, it will get a bit drier as the day wears on.
What is normal for y’all (did I use this term correctly) is a bit sticky for some of us from the Colorado Plateau.

My tune changes driving 3 hours to Missoula, sometimes a LOT. Id love to see a match like short range where theres time to load between targets but it would have to be a longer match. Like I said, Im super impressed by the guys that pre loaded and were competitive. A tuner would at least give you another way of fixing an out of tune rifle. I watched Leo Anderson keep his rifle in tune most of the time only on seating, he was always competitive. Powder works better for me, but it makes for a long match when your first target shows your out of tune and you cant fix it.
So I just upgraded from an RCBS scale to an A&D. As sensitive as that scale is the thought of packing it up and then setting it up in my trailer makes me kind of nervous. Does anyone bring a A&D 120i on the road or are other scales more suited for traveling?

I take mine to every match, as do a lot of other competitors. I also bring my calibration weight and calibrate each time I set it up after moving it. It calibrates very quickly. I know I need to calibrate if my powder cup doesn't weight 720.16 to 720.18 grains.

I bought a heavy plastic pic-foam case from Harbor Freight and then picked out the foam so my scale, Autothrow, and Autotrickler fit.

The case was about $70. It's not a high end case like a Pelican but it works well.

That’s good to know. Thanks for the response. I’m hoping to do some traveling to shoot once I get a little more time.

Hell, I am building a new gun just to ba able to participate in this fantastic event. Don’t tell the wife. Proceeds coming from that play money account. Ha
Once you choose a color and technique!!
