Here is a picture of the group and the rifle. The rifle is a early/mid 70's Savage 112V single shot. Was originally a .243win but of course the barrel was toast when I got it. Tuned/adjusted the factory trigger. Breaks clean and right at 3#.
You could pretty much call this our drop in Savage prefit barrels. When the blank got contoured before rifling etc...Justin threaded it at the same time.
Scotty in the shop chambered it for me and cut and crowned the muzzle as well as pillar bedded the stock.
On the action I bought a .250" thick recoil lug and after truing up the receiver face I had Todd double pin the recoil lug to the receiver in the cnc mill. Pinned the lug at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock position.
I trued/cleaned up the bolt face and shortened the ejector spring so the rounds don't eject out of the bolt when you open it and lapped the bolt lugs.
Very nice Frank. I have one of those old 112V single shot medium action rifles that came with a 220 swift barrel. It was replaced with a used Criterion 6 BR Norma barrel and I shot my first 200 yard 1 hole group with it.
That rifle and barrel started me down the long dark hole!
The first pic is the 3 shot one hole 6 br group and the other two it's in a Stockade stock with a 6 Creedmoor barrel and a Vortex GE and makes weight for the 11# match coming up at Deep Creek.
I appreciate the tech you contribute here and elsewhere, thanks!
