The Proper Response-Get Rid of the Guns

Lets treat all the amendments like we treat the second amendment. We can propose no news story can be published until the writer has a background check, and there can be a five day waiting period before publication.

Perhaps it would be a good idea if you had to have a license to attend a mosque. All mosques must be registered and a background check must be completed every time you attempt to attend a mosque.

Perhaps convicted felons should be forced to have a soldier living with them. The soldier could keep close tabs and be sure the convict doesn't do anything he or she shouldn't and report back to their superiors.

Maybe if you're not 21, you have no right to a jury trial. Cruel and unusual punishment should be the norm to "set people straight" before they get their "full citizenship" at age 21.

Movies can no longer be mass produced because they have too large of an audience and movies are simply too long. Movie theaters can only have a capacity of five seats and a must be no longer than five minutes in length.

News stations can have a small broadcast capacity and cannot transmit across state lines because every state may be able to impose stricter regulations than the one which it broadcasts from.

Shall I go on?

A waiting period? That POS waited 4 years.

Yup.

At best, a waiting period affords a hothead a bit of time to reconsider. Won't impact the plotter and planner one bit, though, as this criminal (who attacked in Uvalde) showed. He was perfectly happy to await his acquisition, even if it took a couple years of stewing and planning.

My general reply to any blindly spouting that the RKBA and 2A should be buried is to inquire as to what they personally would do if the door to their homes got kicked in during the middle of the night. A phone call won't stop what's coming. Wishing it weren't happening won't go far. Yelling the violent invader's being dangerous or threatening won't do. Only options left are: be at the mercy of the violent invader, or put a halt to that invader.

There's no squirming out of that box, no matter what leanings or political perspective a person might otherwise have. You either cope with it, right then and there, or you find yourself incapable of doing so. Simple choice, really.

Same with a school with kids inside.
Same with an office building with peeps inside.
Same with a restaurant or any other venue, if people want to survive murderous attack.

Got to be capable of withstanding it, if you want to survive. Got to be capable of lasting long enough for the cavalry to be called (let alone, to actually arrive).

First, it is not impossible for the Govm't to take away all the millions of ARs that are on the market, along with all Semi auto pistols, shotguns, and 22 Rim fire. IN 1987, they came very close to doing exactly that very thing, with a mass gun confiscation in California.

Second, when the govm't starts prowling around medical records, a tremendous number of legal gun owners that have never committed a crime WILL loose their guns. Don't even think about the Vetrans where the Marxists consider them all a threat.

The Marxist backed regime can not "Reset" the Republic and do away with our Constitution as long as we are armed.

For those Praying types, please pray for our Police, as they are under a tremendous strain with all of the Anti Police movement that has been going on...they do not talk about the oppressions they are under, but it is on going.

Scary thought, remember reading of how President Franklin D Roosevelt signed an executive order that required all silver and gold coins to be turned in to the government? Do you really think that this bunch of Marxists will not confiscate your gold and silver? Back then, it was a $10,000 fine to you if you did not turn in your gold and silver, and I wonder how much that fine would be in today's money.

A lot of people need to take a "Wake Up Pill."

My experience: The teachers in school these days are not the kind of people I’d want teaching my kids the “ways of the world”. A lot of the younger folks I know are home schooling their kids to protect them from these liberals.

Trust me most teachers do what they can. Its a different world for them, one wrong word or move in class and your career is over. I feel for the teachers its not easy in this new world

This tragedy may have been planned by certain someone’s just like the Capital Hill fiasco. Don’t forget this is a strong possibility, and I’m about as far away from wearing that tin foil hat as anybody.
A lot of folks will discount, completely, out of hand what you just said. But knowing that if you flip a coin, the odds are you’ll get it right about half the time, maybe consider what the odds are in each disaster that:
1) Everything, every safeguard, every time went wrong.
2) Everyone involved screwed up, but no one has to take any blame.
3) We live in a society where “Failure is Rewarded.”(Don’t believe it? Just watch how much MORE of your money gets thrown at the problem now)
4) The rights of the individual are invariably slaughtered at the altar of “Common Good” or sacrificed at the altar of “State Security” when neither of these gods even exist.
If the above is not true, then we, as a nation are paying one helluva price for incompetence at worst, or mediocracy at best. If it is true, then Katie better bar the door cause Old Ugly is getting a lot closer.

Someone (i think dusty) mentioned those participation awards earlier. Nothing drove/drives me crasier than that. I made allot of mistakes when my son was growing up but one thing he learned was there is only one winner and thats the guy that gets there first. Im proud to say that his in one of the best schools and his one of the best students and one of the best allrounded athletes, yes he likes his xbox and his tablet but he gets hom from school 17.30 everyday after practice and he will still take his ball, bike or training shoes and go practice by himself some time . Obviously he knows you cant win them all but you dont rock up expecting a 4th place trophy. I really belive this is one of the big problems in the world and as Bocephus said failure gets rewarded to much

I will not consider it even if all politicians stop going around with armed bodyguards.

What's good for the goose-steppers is good for us.

Which is, quite simply the whole point of the RKBA's 2A protections. The BOR declared the rights were the People's. It's purpose was to keep the government's mitts off our rights. The 2A expressly disallows erasure, flatly states it's the People's right that shall not be infringed upon, and it even states why. (Even if the power-mongering types and the courts won't appreciate it.)

As you say, I'll not consider a robber's attempt to rob me. It'll get dealt with, as robbers should get dealt with.

Of course, that sort of response allows zero opportunities for a died-in-the-wool anti-gunner. About the only thing they'll have to say, at that point is something inflammatory, even insulting.

I'd love to imagine that many who are against the right could be "flipped" and made to see. But if they won't appreciate how simple the problem gets at 2am when the door's kicked in and the children's very lives are threatened, then they'll never "get" it. Of course, if they're okay with their kids getting flattened by a murderous robber, while they're incapable of doing anything about it, that's on them. Me, I'm okay with my choice to repel boarders. If they won't appreciate the simple point of the RKBA then, then nothing I can say will help.

For discussions sake, lets say that every firearm in the US was gone, instantly gone. So the evil person who shot up the school in Texas walks in through the back door(like he did) with a Louisville slugger, gets into a class room of young children and a teacher with no means to protect themselves and proceeds to use the piece of ask to decimate the class room. Why are schools still soft targets after all the mayhem our "leaders" have experienced? Why?

First it has long been my contention that in situations like this the police, fire, EMS, etc. are NOT the First Responders. They are the second responders. The First Responders are the citizens on scene when it goes down.

However in our current Nanny State where the goal is to not be responsible for anything, most if not all citizens on the scene are ill prepared for anything more than a bee sting. If that! And they will run and hide like the clueless cowards they are. And all they might think of doing is calling 911.

Lives mean nothing to this president and congress. Proof are their efforts to set up more people as victims by removing their ability to defend themselves. And in the meantime they fail to enforce immigration laws.

The scenario goes as such:

Sensationalize particularly dramatic murders and mass shootings, to convince folks that they are becoming "everyday common".

Ignore the fact that these occurrences are nearly as rare as death by lightening.

Ignore the fact that homicide stats include justifiable defense against attack.

Ignore the fact that a great number of gun deaths involve dirt bags killing other dirtbags.

Ignore the fact that these horrific numbers of homicides are occurring in a population of THREE HUNDRED AND THIRTY MILLION people, which makes the odds veeeerrrry slim.

I could go on, but with a totally biased news media which has no love for the truth, these words seldom get heard. jd

Totally ignore the occurrences of good people with guns preventing evil perpetrated by bad people with guns, knives, knuckles, clubs,---etc.

How many times have you heard the person calling to get rid of assault weapons start out by saying “I don’t own a gun, but ….” In the same breath, these people call out to get rid assault weapons. I doubt most of these people know what an assault weapon is. At any rate, it is irrational to vilify an inanimate object and to do so takes the focus off of the real problem.

By way of example, there are more gun deaths by suicide than by homicide. Will getting rid of guns resolve this problem? Obviously not. Getting help for the suicidal individuals will help. Truth is, in my neighborhood a blind eye is turned to the mentally ill; at least until they commit a criminal act.

Schools should not be a soft target for sick or evil people. If part of the solution to dealing with someone that chooses to kick the door to your home in is proper greeting once they get inside while you wait for what might be help to show up, why is the same not the proper response at schools? If teachers take on the job to have my children during the day, and act in my place during that time, (the legal term is in loco parentis and means in place of parents) then should they not be trained to respond to all foreseeable threats and especially foreseeable life endangering threats?

Or, we can just stay in “la la land” and continue to hope that it don’t happen.

This is A Salt rifle.

Members of congress and the atf, (or aft as joe always misspeaks), can not even give a definition as to what their feared “assault weapon “ is.
A Pencil is an assault weapon, if you use it with ill intent.
They Know how ridiculous their narrative is, but they have to sell it to the majority, to justify their unconstitutionally proposed 2A bans.
They are not after common sense gun laws, but the goal is to disarm law abiding citizens, and introduce Tyranny.

when and if it happens, even odds, the LAST guns gone will be those belonging to the bodyguards of the DC occupiers.
