The new Sightron SVSS ED 10x-50x

DSCF4029 (2).JPG

I just received this scope and will shoot it tomorrow in a 300 yard match. It is the latest model with the IR and the zero stop. I plan to write up my impressions for this website (with Paul's approval of course). I am looking forward to testing this scope and expect great things from it.

PS- it has the 1/8th MOA adjustments and the MOA-H reticle. It can be had with the crosshair and small dot. Here is a picture of the lighted reticle set at its highest (brightest) setting. I really don't need the IR feature but it comes with the MOA reticle in this model. The hash marks subtend 2 MOA at 24X and 1 MOA at 48X.

The above scope is very large and heavy, but my rifle as shown with it, a 28" HV barrel, Warne steel rings and 1 # of weight in the butt weighs a little under 16 pounds. Of course this is my short range BAT with Terry Leonard stock that I shot as a 10.5 sporter with a 36X Valdada. The weight of the scope is not a problem but others need to consider the type of shooting and the equipment to be used. Good shooting....James
This is my 10.5 pound sporter with 21.5 inch LV barrel and Kelbly rings.

Could you please provide a up date? How did it go? thanks
The scope performed well and the adjustments were spot on. The conditions were very bad with mirage, but I finished 4th and that is with my 76 year old eyes that need cataracts removed. The scope's reticle (MOA-H) is a little too busy and that is my only criticism of this scope. The zero stop worked as advertised and the clicks are very audible and crisp. The FAST system of parallax adjustment is very nice to use and one can dial in a crisp, parallax-free image with little fuss.

Thank you for the update, I would really like one. I do want to take a look myself once. Have a great day

I am in my second season with one with crosshairs and .1 dot. I am very happy with it. Its bright with a clear, sharp image. I shoot it from 100 to 1000, adjustment are firm and repeatable and holds POI perfectly. You give up a bit of power to 60x scopes but I usually shoot them on 50 because they get dark at 60, no darkness with this one. I bought it for the crisp adjustment with the dual parallels control that allows for a better image in mirage compare to other scopes I use or have used such as NF, Vortex, Leupold etc.I am pleased with it.

I, too , am the owner of two of them. Have one of each reticle, and like Mr. Mock, feel that the crosshair/dot suits my games better than the MOA-H. To my eyes, these scopes and the NF 15-55 Comp have the most clarity of all the scopes I’ve tried through the years. Both of mine are totally solid on the Field and Cave checker, and the parallax fine adjustment feature is very handy. Biggest drawbacks are weight, of course, and limited reticle options. YMMV

I was at a shoot yesterday with very bright sun and lots of mirage. We were shooting at a very bright white target with red rings. At 400 yds I could see my 6mm holes fine with this model Sightron. Up and down the line there was lots of moaning about not seeing holes. Large percentage of Nightforce. I am very happy with this scope.
