The new hog exploder.....

Phil,

The .22-250AI would be easier than the 22x47.

Here again, just too much powder for my taste, dozen`t mean that it won`t be a HOT ROD.....

That`s the fun part, deciding what horse to ride...;)

Phil.

If I would have known about the 53s at the time I had my 22x47L, i would have run them. I ran the 75s, but would love to see a 53 @ 4200fps or more.

Been working on a ridiculous hog rifle. A 22 Dasher, built specifically for the 53gr Vmax. Got 50 cases formed and this morning got to firing some velocity loads. This was with XBR8208, FEDGMM primer, old 6br cases, and 53s @ the lands. View attachment 985722
I'm going to guess that groundhogs are about lose their minds, and guts, spines, ect.

The group was well under 3/8".

X-caliber 23" 1-8t 3g (rechambered 3 times)
Degregorio 1.5oz trigger
Old 40x stock
R700 single shot
8.5-25x50LR scope

thought about a dasher but wanted more neck, so i went with a 22 BRDX with a 12 twist kreiger. i had a bunch of 63 cheeks that shot very well in a 22 BR but i wanted more speed. using varget i get 3600 fps and one hole. larger ghogs drop dead without a quiver while the small ones explode. as with the 22 DASHER this is a bit of a barell burner if shot hot and a lot, but i use only for ghogs and it should last a long time. another 6 BR wildcat that shoots.

Add five more, plus one in the hole.
All but one was over 175yds with the furthest at 347yds.
20160822_195927_resized.jpg
243yds
20160822_195352_resized.jpg
347yds
20160822_194419_resized.jpg 147yds and this one was huge, pushing 15lbs if not more.
20160822_194912_resized.jpg 250ish
20160822_195346_resized.jpg another 200ish

All 53s @3988fps.

He always posted interesting stuff, especially the smaller stuff. I believe he’s still in business but I’m not sure if that, I know he opened up his own place at some point.

I know I bought some brass from Adam, back when he was posting and around. Never any issues with what he said or did. And the brass, he formed, was top notch.
Would like to see him back around or at least know he is well and safe.
