It's amazing how people from such diverse backgrounds can connect with a common interest. In the shooting sports, especially competitive Benchrest, high performance cars/boats/planes is one commonality. And golfing. I think the pursuit of perfection.....even when we know that perfection is impossible to achieve.....is it's own reward. And a big driving force.This is me in 1977 at the Shrimp and Petroleum Regatta at Morgan City Louisiana Running a 399 CID Big Block Chevy in APBA 5 lap competition.
Like many who frequent this Web Site, I was rather insane in my younger years.
Al Nyhus is another shooter who has spent his life seeking speed and continues to work in the Hot Rod World figuring out ways to eke out every last bit of power in NHRA Stock and Super Stock Engines.

This one's up next on the dyno. It's 400" and currently makes 2.65 hp/cu. in. with two carbs and gasoline. The goal is 2.70 hp/cu. in.
