Twenty years ago, I.....

Francis Broussard and I went to what was my first Super Shoot. It was an amazing experience where I met several of the icons of Benchrest shooting. I was so ignorant about what it took to shoot small, I thought that it was easy. Pictured below is Mike Walker, yours truly, and Allie Euber. What a pleasure it was for this red neck country boy to meet such giants of competition. Mike and Allie have passed on, but their legacy has not. The target shown was shot with a Rosenthal/Dodd actioned rifle chambered in .22 PPC-short. I was shooting 25.1 gr. of N133 and Griffin 52 gr. match bullets. I am an occasional PARTICIPANT in local matches now, but am not a COMPETITOR. Thanks for the memories. James.Mike Walker, 2003 at SS 002.JPG

Time flies James. A Supershoot is where I met you. My first one was 2004. 2005 was a very memorable year. Won a Shilen bbl in the merchandise drawing, a Farley rest in another drawing, some $$$ for other stuff, a Leupold 45 scope for small group in the Hv200(shot on bench 4) and won the Hv200 over 333 other shooters. It was a hell of a day. I think Ron Hoehn won the 2 gun. Any match that Ron and I were at we had a bet on every group/agg/grand/2 gun.

Sure miss that guy.

Good times, good memories.

Left to right: Don Powell, Walt Berger, Dwight Scott, Wayne Campbell, Allen Arnett, Tony Boyer, Ron Hoehn, Gerald Masker, Faye Boyer, John Brown, Lee Euber, Bill Forrester. Where else can we meet this many Hall of Fame members? Sadly, several of the above have passed on since this picture was taken. I thought I would post it for those who have not had a chance to attend a SS. PS-There were more HOF members at this SS, but they did not get in the picture.SS XXXIX 017.JPG
