The gun fight

None of us know when we're done on this earth, but it's likely gonna be longer than you expect. My folks are both alive, and both ninety. People are living a long time these days, and if you're gonna live, it's best to enjoy it. Life is precious, and it ought not be wasted.

I've got my little buddy here, and suddenly my best happiness is achieved by giving her a good time. I'm kind of a beginner at this, but the job is fun, and I seem to be OK at it. If I can help her to love life, and prepare her for the future, I'm a blessed man. She is nine, and I think she may need me for at least a few more years.

There are others like her out there that need a gramppa, and if your life seems kind of meaningless, ya might round one up. jd
JD, doing a fine job!

Many have thrown their hat into the ring. Most have no chance of winning and they know it. So why do they run? They run because they can amass large amounts of money through campaign donations. Realistically, this money can't be used for personal gain but there are no limits on the amount they can receive and keep in a designated campaign fund.

So of what use is this money to the drop out candidate? It buys them favors from other politicians. This money can be doled out to any other candidate they choose. It makes them power brokers. Beto is not stupid. He knew going in that he could never be elected. He also knew that he was finished as a politician. He needs a good paying job. Now he can buy one.

Now watch Corey Booker drop out and keep millions of dollars for his future campaigns in Congress. Many of these ineluctable candidates will wind up endorsing a top runner with a promise of a good job if their endorsed candidate wins.

Sometimes I’m glad I’m close to checking out. It’s killing me, watching what our great Country is turning into.
AMEN! to that, I'm 67 but really worry for my grandkids, this country will not survive a socialist president.

A friend of mine told me that Beto was responding "Live" to questions on Reddit the other day. I don't do social media, so I didn't get involved, but my friend did. He asked Beto, "How exactly do you plan to come and take my AR-15?" Beto never responded, but a ton of other people did, and the responses did not look good for his campaign. I didn't mention that my friend is a Dem.

Magnificent !

jds holler, you really nailed it. Wish I could do more than just " like", regarding you post. Like you I have an elderly mother, my father passed away last year at 93. Have 3 wonderful grand daughters, that I am truly blessed to spend a great deal of time with them. One almost daily. For my wife and I it is the best part of our lives. Fortunate to have had many great experiences in my life, but would not trade time spent with my grand children for any of them. Gladly my bank account will bear witness to that.

Not all that optimistic about the future of some of my family traditions.
