I started reloading to save money. Well, I'm about as far from saving money as I can get.
I always shop around for the best deals but I realized...you never SAVE money you just spent less.
You should have bought my 1968 SS Camaro when I sold it (1972 I think). 396 - 375HP, 4 bolt mains, close ratio Muncie, 4.10 positrac. I got 6 mpg in the city and you could actually watch the fuel gauge decrease (16 gallon tank). It got 9 mpg on the highway. But could it run. Red with black vinyl top.I jokingly tell people that I am on a quest to spend $300,000 to have a $30,000 car.
I may not know how to to tell when you have "enough" but I have figured out how to justify not having "enough". From a 1955 Lee hammer realoading rig, Star loaders and lubsizers. Plus a Master Caster in the 60s, Wilson set up in the 70s, skeet and trap in the 80s and 90s, shot shell rigs, Texans, poiness Warren, and a full set of hyd mecs, all four gauges, 2000 to present long range bench rifles, never sold a thing. Still have it all, just keep building bigger shops... BUT, I have a plan, came to me just before my 75th birthday this week. When I get too old to shoot I'm going to open a museum, sit on the front porch in a rocking chair and collect 50 cents a head to go in and lookPlease let me know how to tell when one has everything they need/want. In spite of my considerable powers of observation and my uncanny grasp of the obvious, I've never been able to tell.
You want a hobby that will put you in the poorhouse? Buy an airplane, preferably a twin.![]()
View attachment 1195660 I have a really nice Chevelle that I hauled out of a guys backyard back in 1992.

It is amazing how much a person will spend on a hobby. I hope that it tapers off a little once I get everything that I need/want.....Please tell me that it does!!!

I think I have succeeded.
As for my shooting “hobby”, let’s just say I am never satisfied.
Check with Penn before you send them the plant in Philly was closed for Covid. Although I have heard they are opening back up. If you are mechanical they are easy to work on many schematics available on line with part numbers.I have several that could be sent back to Penn for a freshen up.
