The Cost Of A Hobby

It is amazing how much a person will spend on a hobby. I hope that it tapers off a little once I get everything that I need/want.....o_O Please tell me that it does!!!

lol, then you branch off into another area of your hobby and start over, repeat as necessary

Oh yeah, once you get everything you need prices will fall through the floor. Happens to me whether trading reloading components or stock on Wall Street.....

A hobby keeps your mind working and gives some drive to earn some extra scratch for the hobby.

Glad to hear you got one that keeps you going!

I make it a point to be honest with everyone I meet. So just this one time I'll try going the other way. " Of course it does. Trust me."

We spend our discretionary money on our hobby. Some people have more than others to spend but what ever our discretionary budget is, we spend it on our hobby. Most of us do not have much to spend when we are young and raising our children. Then we have more later in life.

For example a bass boat cost more than all of my reloading equipment and my guns that I shoot in competition.

The first law of economics is that man's wants are never satisfied.

You have walked into the bar looking for solace from the other patrons. All we can do is offer to buy you another drink. ;)

After my wife ventured a peek into one of my reloading cabinets she said, "This isn't a hobby any more, you are just collecting now".

Maybe she's right.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and
more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ You get the idea.

I started reloading to save money. Well, I'm about as far from saving money as I can get.
I always shop around for the best deals but I realized...you never SAVE money you just spent less.

Hobby!, this ain't no stinking hobby! This is a way of life! Well at least until the money runs out and i can't borrow any more from what were my friends, and the wife takes the house and kicks me out! And now the kids won't even let me borrow more money, I mean geez i'm already taking the bus cuz i had to sell the truck to get that New BLAZE-O 5000 rifle, man it's cool! Now if i just had a little more money for ammo for it I could shoot it! I bet it will really shoot good, heck i know it will, just need a little more cash to see. Hobby!, ...... This ain't no stinking hobby, ...... it's an addiction!!!!

that’s when you get a new rifle and start over

I like to duck hunt. So I bought a boat, decoys, shotgun, shells, waders, clothes, dog and to top it off a $300,000 cottage on the coast to stay in. :D

So, if you don't have at least $100,000 invested in a hobby then it is just a little interesting pastime.
