If national security is at risk from a flyover, someone is missing the problem.

Granted, during the winter infrared mapping of warm power lines, substations, power plants and warm gas and oil lines would be easier to map than in the summer, even through a few feet of snow.

Would be an easy way to find Skynet connected devices.

Are you throwing out disinformation for the Chinese? Or justifying the stupidity and ineptness of the current administration?

One thing about these threads, you can certainly tell the Americans from the democrats and RINOs.

I don't use the Dem or Rino pronouns.
No, they should not have flown the balloon over the US.
If it drifted off the planned path they should have requested we shoot it down.
Our own high ranking military leaders and our inept administration were arguing instead of acting. Big guy with the button should have pushed it.
EMP, Bioweapons while possible with this delivery method just managed to bring out the weirdos. Hope it's a wake up call for a military caught sleeping.

Satellites are far more effective than a balloon. I worked at a company that hired a guy from China he came to the US got his PHD in the US was hired by a big company and went back to China with all of the company’s privileged info. Industrial espionage is a major problem in this country. I feel kind of bad posting this on the website it’s is starting to get to much non shooting stuff posted. A lot of non proven BS.

What was our military elite thinking? I can think of NO logical reason to NOT eliminate the threat once it came into our airspace. Whats the point of maintaining NORAD? Now the precedent has been set, proof that Joe has no clothes, his administration has no brains or balls ( maybe Rachel), so we are now going to walk on eggshells for the next 800 days.
The really, really sad thing is that after all this cluster, 30 % of the voters would still vote Joe back in......leaving THEM with the task of harvesting the remaining 25% . We are so screwed....perhaps behind the point of no return.
