I look at this map and see entry points from the north. Or are they exit points? Humm. Wishful thinking I bet. Canada is a liberal wasteland but we're on a fast track to beat them there.

Yes. But look another map that shows the northern border of northern Canada. Nunavut which is 5 times the size of Texas. The Canadian government has no clue what’s happening there.

My experience on our northern border is that there is no way we can monitor it or have any clue what comes and goes across our northern border in the wilderness. I would only guess that Canada has the same issue to their north.

Ok. I guess I should have chosen my words more carefully. Yes, our northern border has many areas that are at best spotty. Now what I mean with Canada is their northern border has no monitoring at all. And they have no plan on changing anything.

Any clue to how many men it takes to keep 20 fighters (1 squadron) serviceable? And I’m not talking archaic f-15’s & f-16’s.
The maintenance is mind boggling and the effort supreme.
The cost is crazy high along with the weapons but the cost of freedom priceless.

Typical maintenance squadron is a few hundred people. They all require maintenance no matter how new they are. The thing that changes is the type of maintenance they require. Older airframe need more work on hard parts like engines and hydraulics while the newer ones require more work on the computers and electronics. I started my career on F-15's and have been working RQ-4's for the last 11 years. On 15's crew chiefs were a lot busier, on RQ-4's it's the avionics guys. At the end of the day, it takes a lot more work and money to keep a Ferrari on the road than it does a Ford.
