The US is too important as a major financial source to China for them to physically do anything significant us.. They are on a path to takeover our country intact without firing a shot. 1) Decided to wait as it could cause harm if it hit someone after being shot down.

2) Still thought that as it was flying over Kansas, Montana, etc..
Lets face it, those are NOT anywhere near as urban as the east coast.

All the news I've seen said Pentagon recommended not to, no threat. But I'm sure you're correct about jo's position.

I tried to go back and find the article, I can't. Maybe I misread it.

OK. I'm not crazy. I just heard a radio host say the WH floated the idea and the Pentagon overruled him. Apparently it was walked back quickly.

I guess they figured this bad attempt for Biden to look strong an in-charge ... you can't have the Pentagon 'overruling' the Commander-in-Chief.

Until Taiwan comes into play. Which it almost certainly will, at some point.

If "the world" determines that it won't tolerate one more nation getting gobbled up by tyrannical powers, even if they imagine those other countries are theirs to take, I suspect China will indeed do their worst. With Taiwan, I think that's the one face-saving thing they simply won't tolerate being kept from them. (Of course, they've got a solid amount of patience, compared to most other nations. They might decide to wait it out. But they might not, as it's "China's" territorial integrity they imagine is on the line here.)

Time will tell.
