Well here we go again. If you pull up a map of the current voting in Oregon you will see that mostly three little blue county's on the left side of the state have caused roughly a 8,000 person backlog on back ground checks as of yesterday.

Now on the normal side of the state where I live, we had our first computer glitch stopping the count of the voting here. (voting by mail of course) When it was repaired, there was nothing to explain it. Whats worse is that it happened in many places across America this time, so much for the same night results we had when you actually had to go to the polling place and prove who you were to vote.

If we are lucky here in Oregon, we can only hope that Wayne P.U. has left enough money in the coffers for the NRA to bail us out again. As for the rest of you gun owners, well your turn isn't far away and no you can't just run away to another state and not expect it to happen there.

This is a perfect example of "democracy" in action, ie "mob rule".
As Benjamin Franklin stated, this nation is a "republic", where individuals have certain
inalienable Rights that all states of the United States agreed were to be honored and
respected as law at the time of the forming of the Union.
This "measure" was unconstitutional or at least questionable at the time it was proposed
and should have been brought before a federal court before it was ever put up to
the voting public IMHO.
Now, if passed, many citizens will possibly be denied their civil constitutional rights for
for who knows how long with legal challenges?
It seems like an anti-American's dream plan on how to bring about chaos and destroy
the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and this Nation and its founding principles.
Here we have 2 foxes and a chicken voting what's for dinner.

Nobody did anything to oppose the law. The other side got 2.5 million
from blumburg. Then they had more than one million to advertise from
the the teachers union,and teachers organizations

Kevan Starret could not get anyone to do anything to fight the bill. He
managed to get about 100000 mostly from one rich gun. Nobody did
anything to stop the bill. The gun clubs did nothing. Tri County and
Douglas Ridge with Mrxxxxxx did nothing. They all said we need to
hide so they will not come after us.

You can not even will your gun to a wife without the permits from the
cops. No permits the cops will storm in and take everything.

The cops have an unlimited amount of time to do background checks. They
can refuse them without cause. They can delay them forever with no
recourse for the person who applied. They can confiscate guns without
you doing anything wrong and without notifying you before they take your
guns. Red flag law.

This is just like New York. Us upstate country folk suffer due to one itsy bitsy blue dot on the bottom of our state map. Unfortunately that itsy bitsy dot has around 11 million people. They have a complete disconnect with our way of life up here. Most of them have never stepped foot off concrete.

I don’t know how long it will take for this to happen here, but in time it will in my opinion. Anywhere there’s a view in Wyoming, mountain, creeks, rock climbing, etc, it’s trending in the wrong direction. I think they’re moving in faster than good people can reproduce. Combine that with war on fossil fuel, less jobs. Lotta the people that move in don’t need work, they sold their place wherever for 5 mil and are riding on that. They’re also very politically active, here to enlighten everyone. Not saying it’s as bad as your state, might take 75 years to get that way, but it’s trending consistently in the wrong direction, probably everywhere. Hopefully I’m wrong.

I don’t agree. NYC which is 5 counties total population is 8.4 million. One of those 5 counties (Staten Island ) went republican as before.
Here’s the point. The state is roughly divided in half by population . 1/2 in NYC and 1/2 ‘upstate’
The people upstate’ just don’t vote. Ok shame on us. but the people in the 4 democratic counties in NYC vote early and often. Voter fraud in NYC puts everyone else as an also ran. Additionally you wind up with Hochul winning. Why? The people’upstate ‘ see her as the first governor of my who is not from NYC in many decades, therefore that one fact alone gets these people out of bed just to vote for her because of that. Upstate people despise NYC and justifiably so. I live 100 miles from the closest subway yet 1/4 % of my taxes goes to support the subway system. Figure that out!
Therefore upstaters will vote for a moron like Hochul
based on where she is from.

I’m not disagreeing with your statements but a lot of people upstate voted brother. We were defeated by the population centers, specifically NYC. Zeldin came close to 50%. Here is the actual results map for the election.

Thankfully, several County Sheriffs are stating that they will not prosecute this
new law.
Maybe the message there is one we need to consider more closely and make
sure that our County Sheriffs are the most important elections to consider.

Local elections can be the most important line of defense. Often times non compliance among law enforcement and district attorneys is the only recourse to unconstitutional state laws. I do believe Oregon will have their day in court with a couple aspects of the measure. But that will take time.

I think it's possible to make each county with its officials the "Supreme Law
of the Land" at least for the area where our homes are and the County Sheriffs
the most powerful law enforcement office within that county the heck with the
big shot politicians at state capitols and DC.
Its also would be much easier to make sure the election process is more honest.
