Now that I am mostly settled after my "attempted" move I wanted to make a post about some experiences I have recently had. Long story short, I tried to move from Montana to Florida and just about everything that could go wrong did. Anyhow, I made the decision to go back to Mt. and I am here and the shop is set up again in my old shop and I settling in for the most part. I have learned a lot in the last couple months. We have all read or heard about the shooting community and how there are so many good people involved in our sport. Its true, but its one thing to know it and another to experiance it. From the initial offer of the place I was going to rent down there to the offers to drive down with trailers from Mt to help me move back. I cant even remember how many offered to drive or fly in to help me move. It was offered if I could not find a uhaul due to the hurricane, a friend would bring one down from Pa. and fly back. And one forum member I did not even know gave us a generator, which was a life saver for my Mother on oxygen. So many texts or calls, "what do you need?" Truly unbelievable. Its easy to turn on the news and get a real bad taste of the way things are going. But theres still a lot of good people in this country. Thank you.

You talk about good people in this world. Sir You Are One . Tommy Mc

As you found out, the shooting community is just plain chock full of wonderful folks always willing to help out. It is amazing the depth of compassion the shooting community has for others! We are so lucky to have these folks surrounding us and offering to help under almost every circumstance.

Alex-

I'm sorry to hear about your difficult circumstances but I'm glad you and your family are safe.

:)

Passed through Dillon MT on the way back from Nationals in Phoenix yesterday. Knew you were back but not sure where your shop was. Would have stopped and whined about how poorly I did in midrange at Ben Avery. Did so poorly that I bailed from the long range. Complete waste of time shooting for me. Can't trust what the guns are doing and not learning anything, time to go.

Hate to tell ya this , but if you think you were the only one that got mauled by the famous Ben Avery "Wind Monster" , You weren't . More got bitten at least once , than didn't . If it were easy , everybody would be doing it , and they're wouldn't be any space on the range . Even many of the really Top Guns had a less than stellar relay along the way . Conditions were challenging ; to say the least .

Yeah, true. I kept getting worse even after switching from the 6 BRA to my long range gun. Couldn't see why I was getting both vertical and horizontal. Gun looked good in testing before going down. Usually you can tell what you are doing wrong but I was blind. Way too much movement given the wind. I've shot at Rattlesnake in heavy winds so I know what wind is. Some of this was not very windy and I still dropped massive points. Something I can't see going on or my gun is fubared.
