Texas LR State Championship

Couple of photos and scores....

Erik I swiped your photos from posting on the Fclass page. For the scores. I hope you don't mind... ???

Conditions were absolutely benign all day. No more than 1/2 minute windage at any time all day. Bizarre! I've never seen this range do this all day long.
This really allowed the hard holders to shine and shine they did!

I don't care what the conditions were, a 600-31x clean at 1,000 is an almost unbelievable score. Over half of David Mann's shots were inside a 5 circle and the rest in 10". David you truly are Da Man!
Erik your score of 599 with 39x's is a world class accomplishment also. Sorry about the 9! Congrats to all the 200 clean shooters. Best of luck today.

Out of curiosity have you observed this feat at a major championship? I cannot recall such a feat in my 20+ years being around F class shooting. I'm wondering if it has ever been done before?

Lbart, thank you.

Update after match 1:
Matt Davis: 200-7X
John Myers: 199-10X
Erik Cortina: 198-10X
Ken Dickerman: 198-7x
Mark Walker: 197-3X
David Mann: 196-7x

It's coming down to the wire like it should! Tough crown here in Texas!

These scores are absolutely "Ridiculous"!

The standard of F-Class shooting and accuracy have really been elevated to a level never seen before.

6brmrshtr,
I have only been shooting FC for 16+ years but the scores yesterday in Huston are the first 3 string 200's I have heard of. This of course is the exception to the rule. The conditions were there, the rifle, ammo were top notch and of course David had his act totally together.

Things like this happen when everything just comes together. I had the experience back in 2000 or so at Raton when the conditions were perfect. I was shooting my old 6BR at 1k on the old 10X ring target. Shot a 200-20x clean and the target puller said the group was 8" or less. I just held in and around the X-ring and chased the spotter. Never seen the like since. That day the Tompkins Gallagher girls set some Jr. records I believe. As it is said records are made to be broken and David just set the 3x20 bar quite a bit higher.

You guys should be ashamed of yourself shooting in conditions like that!!! LOL Great shooting guys!!! Looks like a fight to the finish!!!

Those extra four years for me were watching Walter Stroman down on the end of the range by himself shooting with a rest. The rest of us shot prone and had no idea what Walter was doing.....😊

Congratulations to Erik Cortina for the F-Open win. 995-57X! Erik dedicates this win to all those who think the .284 Shehane is not enough. ;)

Congratulations to Erik! Who won FTR?

Johnny Ingram won F-T/R. I do not know what his final score was. NOW for the unreal part: Johnny has only been shooting about a year may be just a tad more! He has a natural ability and this is an amazing feat for someone just getting into this game!

Certainly a well deserved win by Erik. It is especially great when it happens for someone who has been so helpful to so many. I am personally grateful for all the help he has given me.

Congratulations Erik! A fabulous win against some stiff competition.

More congratulations to Erik! Great job man. But see, you went ahead and left some room for improvement next year. Keep it going.

Steve

Erik never gave up! He really was the most consistent shot out there this weekend! He deserves a GREAT "ATTA-BOY" for an awesome performance!

The sling win was by Stacey Tamulinas. An incredible 996-with a buttload.
4 points all weekend shooting a 308! Beat the 6lasers quite handily.
