Texas LR State Championship

Down South

FTR Junkie
This weekend (April 17-19) at Bayou Club (Houston), who's in?.......Should be a great match, if the rain holds off....... ;) :)

I'm unfortunately in the process of moving and selling a house; didn't have a chance to reload, so I didn't sign up. I may go "spectate" if time permits. Also have a sick granddaughter, who is my huntin' buddy, so she gets first dibs on my time.

I think the Friday Team Event may be a bit "iffy" with rain, and we MAY have a rain delay or 2 on Saturday. However, Sunday looks perfect! See Y'All there!

All of this rain will be cleared out for a nice weekend :). I suppose I can be as wrong as the weatherman ;) ok at least hoping for the best. Looking forward to this weekend...See you guys there!

Should be fun. This is the first time I have taken the time off to shoot the team match, now it is "iffy". I hate paying another night in the hotel if the match is "iffy". I remember shooting an entire weekend in the rain when the long range championship was held at Ft. Wolters in Mineral Wells. Now we have covered lines. Before long we will be have to shoot in tutu's. LMAO

If this blasted rain keeps coming (like it is supposed to) we will have to borrow the Ark from Noah to go to and from the pits! LOL!!

Robert

Glad to hear it Robert, see you guys Saturday..... :)......Im headed that way tomorrow, shooting the team match Friday.

The forecast for tomorrow is positively rotten, but we shall see.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there. Safe travels for the out-of-towners.

I have a very low regard for weather forecasters.

They told us last night that it would be pouring today during rush hour. Didn't happen. They were predicting 80% chance of rain for tomorrow; that keeps dropping. They say it should clear out by Saturday afternoon, whatever that means.

We were supposed to be drenched this past Sunday but we managed to get in a full 3X20 after a delay at the start and a couple of brief interruptions.

We've been getting a lot of rain so far this spring.

We shall see.

My low regard for weather forecasters was totally justified. The team match today went off without a hitch; no rain delays or interruption. It ran from 8:00Am to about 2:30PM and not a drop of rain.

Let's see what the weekend brings.

Denys, I also heard that "The Bayou Boys" aka "Team Omar" won the team effort today in F-T/R! Hoo-Rah! Way to go guys!

AND it looks like another set of "Bayou Boys", our F-Open group, won the team effort! Hoo-Rah!!

I am extremely proud of the shooters at Bayou Rifle! They did an outstanding job! Way to go guys!

By the way, this is not to diminish or disrespect any other shooting team! If you saw the score, they were very tight indeed! I just want to give an "atta-boy" to our club members! I am sure someone at some point will post the results..

Here are the first day results for F/TR. Congratulations to Ray Weaver and Jade Delcambre, tied for the lead with 592-26, followed by Johnny Ingram and Omar Alonzo.

Turned out to be a great day, the rain stayed away until 10 minutes after the final match was completed.

In F-Open, David Mann shot an UNBELIEVABLE 600-??x's.. The last scores were not yet posted, so I do not know his X count. I have NEVER seen a 600 at 1000 yards! Erik Cortina shot a 599-?? (30+X's) and so far is in 2nd place! Can you imagine dropping only 1 point for the day and NOT WINNING! It seemed like almost everyone was on their "A" game today!

There were (I believe) 11 High Masters in F-Open and I shot MY VERY BEST AGG with a 595 and I think 22 or 23 "X's" and I am very close to the BOTTOM of the HM "pack"! These bad boys can shoot!

The bar is super high. Some guys were upset about droppi g a poi t on the first relay. I thought that was great shooting, butni didnt know what that meant. It means that people had to clean the score to be competitive.
