That is almost too pretty to shootI am glad there is a good inexpensive borescope out now. I have a Hawkeye that I still use everyday and it does have better resolution. But I also have the video screen for it and this stupid $50 borescope blows it away. Its not the HD one though. I have been having fun taking videos with minePlugs right into my samsung cell phone. Be careful twisting them, my first one lost resolution and I think I may have hurt it by twisting it too much.
Using it as an endoscope, lolMakes my back hurt to use a bore scope ...
Probably the best 50.00 spent lately on gun stuff. I wound up cleaning all my barrels 95% better than I ever cleaned them without this borescope. Was looking around for a little and decided to get the Teslong Borescope. Got it in the mail and set it up. It was a little finicky with setup but mainly, first have it on and working with the camera app running then connect to the camera wifi.
OH MAN, I am seeing the errors of my ways. From Carbon buildup, to copper buildup, to some rust on my muzzleloaders! I was just proved to be a total slacker when it comes to cleaning rifles. Luckily I do have some that aren't horrible.
Spent the rest of the night just running CLP down the barrels to oil them up and will be going to town one by one cleaning them up.
Highly recommend that Teslong. Will be completely revamping my cleaning routing based on that one purchase.
I've been contemplating getting a Teslong, what Model Number/Part number is the best? Several different ones out there so don't know which one to get. Thanks, MarkProbably the best 50.00 spent lately on gun stuff. I wound up cleaning all my barrels 95% better than I ever cleaned them without this borescope.
For IPhone, WiFi version only.I've been contemplating getting a Teslong, what Model Number/Part number is the best? Several different ones out there so don't know which one to get. Thanks, Mark
Can't speak for any other models but the NTG100 USB model that I purchased. It's a 36" flexible scope model. Works absolutely perfect for checking your barrel cleaning skills. Apparently mine were pretty sad. I thought I did a great job cleaning as when I pushed the last patch thru the barrel, it's always clean. The carbon rings in all my rifle barrels was clearly evident indicating that I lacked the proper technique needed to remove it. A little Isso and bore eliminator fixed the problem as I knew exactly what area to concentrate on. Seemed a little copper foiling still existed in the barrels also. Today, the barrels look like new. Money well spent.I've been contemplating getting a Teslong, what Model Number/Part number is the best? Several different ones out there so don't know which one to get. Thanks, Mark
Thanks, will look into the 36 inch as I have 28 inch barrel. Can't speak for any other models but the NTG100 USB model that I purchased. It's a 36" flexible scope model. You'll love it. It may not work with the app they give you. It didn't with mine. A forum member led me to the correct app in the play store of my Android phone and it functioned perfectly. That app in my phone was called USB camera. Give it a shot if the one they recommend doesn't work properly in your device. You'll just want to use a piece of black tape to wrap around the head of the scope to keep it from scratching the inside of the barrel. Just below the mirror/ light area. Good luck and post your results. Thanks, will look into the 36 inch as I have 28 inch barrel.
This, the first 4-5" of my rifling looks like a goth club even after a very thorough cleaning and a scrub with JB. Scopes are fun but groups your rifle shoots always does the talking.Just be careful about cleaning until your barrel looks like it is new. Some of the carbon and copper removers will discolor the bore. Using losso or JB bore paste to remove these stains may reduce bore life.
