Teslong Apple Compatible bore scope thread (WiFi)

It comes in a bigger box so it is not coiled up as tight from Teslong so I would assume it’s the same the cord looks slightly different but I’m not gonna coil mine up and find out
Its almost like it has a metal core. I havent seen or held the original though.

I bought one of the older, non-Iphone compatible units about a month ago, and got so much reflection glare off the bore that it rendered the thing nearly useless. I'm in the process of returning it to Amazon now for that reason. Has anybody else had this problem? I never found a way to get rid of it. The only adjustment I know of is the brightness of the light in the tip. I'd really like to get one of the wifi versions if it doesn't have this problem. From the pictures posted I seem to be the only one having this problem. I suppose it's academic since Amazon is out of them and won't say when or if they'll have them again.

Teslong's web site shows them, but their price is $75 and their site doesn't say whether or not they have any either.

You need to screw the mirror closer or further from the lens to assist in focusing. That, along with lighting control allows me to use mine from .223 through .45 caliber bores. Nice sharp view.

Stupid question but have you tried to adjust the power of the light? There’s an adjustment on the cord itself. May help you.

Yes, I did try the adjustment. There's also a sliding adjustment on the left side of the computer screen. Neither helped -- the image would go from glare to black at some point when the brightness was reduced. The rifling wasn't completely absent from view, just mostly blocked by glare. I couldn't get the kind of images I see on various on-line postings, so I'm pretty sure the problem is either with my particular unit or me. Nevertheless, the potential is obvious, and I'll get a new wifi version when and if Amazon gets more, even at the higher price. I won't buy from anybody else, though, because of Amazon's return policy.

I didn't try that. But I will -- I haven't actually returned it to Amazon yet, so I'll unbox it and see what I can do. I didn't realize until I saw this thread that there was another variable. I must've missed it in the instructions. I'm not optimistic 'cuz the fractional image I did see appeared sharp & in focus, but I've been wrong before. I'd really prefer the wifi version but will be happy with this one if it'll work as well as the images I see on line. Thanks!

Initial thoughts of wifi version.

Pros -
-Semi ridgid cable turns easy and doesnt seem to flop around in the bore too much.
-You can control the capture of images and brightness from the battery/handle by pressing the on/off button. Long press and hold does brightness, short click captures image, longer press turns off. Its nice being able to keep both your hands on the scope.

Cons -
App force closes at times. Hopefully they fix the bugs.
App claims low wifi signal and movements lag on screen. Im trying to keep my body not between the phone and scope. It seems to help a little even though wifi doesnt need line of sight.

Here are 3 pictures each at 1 of the brightness settings. .308 barrel. 1200 rds. 120ish since cleaned.

Somehow I managed to miss the instruction on adjusting the mirror. So after I saw your post I unpacked the Teslong & tried again, adjusting both the light intensity and the mirror position. It definitely did help, and your tip was right on point. Thanks! Unfortunately I still couldn't even come close to the image quality I've seen on both this site and Amazon's, so I'm still returning it. I'll probably order one of the new wifi units when Amazon gets them in. Thanks again!

I ve had the original ever since they became available. I kinda had my doubts on a 50.00 borescope compared to a 900.00 hawkeye or my original choice of a larry willis borescope but wow, i was totally amazed at the ease , clarity and perfect pictures i am getting.
Theres no excuse for a shooter NOT to have one of these
Well worth the money.!!
It will tell the truth if your cleaning regiment is working or not.
I wouldve bet $1000 that my rifles were sparkling clean but i quickly found that i was not 100 % clean.
I have since adjusted my method ( by adding cu+2) and now i KNOW my barrels are clean as new.
A great product id highly recommend. And mine is not the wifi model.
This can only be better.
Better get you one, theyre a valuable tool to add to any serious shooter.

My new Teslong wifi unit made me work 3 hours cleaning a new barrel last night. New Krieger .223 AR 22" that I followed Krieger's break in procedures for chrome moly. Shot 30 rnds the first outing, 40 the second, and 25 on the third.

Inspection revealed a surprising amount of copper fouling. Thankfully the Clemson/Ohio State ballgame broke the monotony of the job.

Mines going back. Connectivity is terrible, video quality is great. Just doesn’t work consistently enough to warrant keeping it

Has anyone had any luck using either wi-fi or regular model with a Kindle Fire? I tried both softwate app downloads today on rigid model w/o success.

The Fire is sort of a tweaked android device and I had to do some tweaks to get other android apps to work, but just can't get the teslong to work on this unit.
