Teslong bore scope

For my final installment (yeah, right) another Teslong photo. I had one case head crack develop yesterday. It was a PMC .308 range pickup case reformed to 7mm-08 that had 14 firings on it. 99 pcs. in the box all had light stretch rings showing, this one cracked. I looked inside with the scope and found it surrounded with rock hard carbon layers. I'm not sure the SS pin method would jackhammer this deposit out. I cut the case with a tubing cutter and scraped at it with a knife but ruined it for a decent picture. The 100 PMC cases went to the scrap bucket.

These 100 pcs. of once fired WW .308 range brass will replace that PMC lot. Already resized to 7-08 and chamfered. Gotta clean that pocket, stuff in a CCI 200. Add 38.0 grs of IMR 4064 and 175 gr. Hornady Interlocks.

In addition to your role as #1 customer sales representative, I hope you're getting paid an additional fee for your role as a product management and marketing supervisor. ;)

^^^^^That's a good question.:)

Here is a few from a factory round I found on the ground. Unknown propellant, the bullet was a bear to pull out and appears to have been cemented in place. Anyone here know about this pip squeak?

Is this carbon or fire cracking in the first few inches of the (Bartlein) barrel? .308 rifle used for F Class with 3,200 rounds fired

From one angle it looks like cracks in steel in the grooves

From a different angle it looks like carbon build up

I would say not either of those conditions. That looks like top of the land barrel steel stretched and pulled forward then ironed down by the passing bullet, caused by friction. Something like galling. Don't take that to the bank, we need other opinions.

Set up a support for my tablet at my work bench. Got it off amazon. Is very sturdy and very adjustable. Going to be useful in keeping my bench clean and organized.

Can't remember who first made me aware of the Teslong borescope, but thanks, thanks a lot.

I will be the first to deny having anything to do with your quest for cleanliness.:p

With that, another set of Teslong photos.

This is a USRA .308 Win. FW I bought new in 1988. My wife uses it when hunting with me now. She'll fire a box of 50 rounds practicing field position shots prior to the season start. I fire it now and then for fun. It now has 1013 shots fired since new. Most .308's are easy to get shooting well, but this one was the most challenging gun I have ever tried to get shooting good at all. Numerous combinations were tested with dismal accuracy. I finally hit the the perfect load with 45.0 grs. of H335 with the Sierra 150 gr. flat base pro hunter bullet. Several cow elk and mulies have been taken by her with this rifle.

This is the first time I have ever looked inside this bore with any bore scope. Looks like some carbon buildup in the leade in the first photo.

My issue was copper fouling in my Ruger SR762 with less than 200 rounds through it.

So I basically followed Compass Lake Engineering's barrel break in recommendations which involves JB bore cleaner. It got the copper that 5 soak and brush sessions with Bore Tech Copper Eliminator and a bronze brush wouldn't. 3 hours of pure pleasure. :D

For my final set of Teslong photos I got my best silhouette rifle out for a look. Another barrel that has not been viewed since I sold the Hawkeye. This is an SS prefix M700 SA fitted with a popular brand SS 26" #6 contour barrel chambered in 7mm-08. Stock is an HS precision sporter and silver Leupold 6.5-20x with 3/8 dot. Exact round count is 2630 with one load only, 40.0 grs. Varget pushing a 150 gr. SMK. Last fall it still grouped about an inch at 300 meters. It was cleaned and has not been fired since.

This is not a pretty bore but it shoots fantastic. It should have another 3000+ good shots left in it based on two others like it I wore out.

I put two wraps of electric tape on the bore scope shaft for consistent centering and focus. Tape was caliper measured at .270 dia. for .284 bores. It rotates and slides freely inside.

I'm going to purchase one of the teslong borescope's. What app will I need to run it on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A? I appreciate whatever help can be given to my illiterate texabiliy self.

Thanks,
Don Dunlap

I recently read a thread on another site about the Teslong bore scope available on Amazon for the princely sum of $49.99. It was getting rave reviews from people who had used 1. Well, I had some points to burn so Amazon got them and I got a cheap borescope. It DOES NOT have a viewer, it need to be viewed on a laptop, Ipad or smart phone. Very simple to use and instructions for mant different devices. Basically plug it into a USB port and open up the camera.

I was amazed last might as I used it on a used barrel, the clarity is amazing for $50. Very nice addition that I really didn't need but now I will be able check throats. Also checked my crown inside out. Picks up the tiniest piece of patch lint. The focal point is definitely correct.
I just bought mine in Oct. 2020 and got an even better deal. It was listed as $39.99, but at check-out an $8 coupon was magically applied which brought my final cost (including sales tax) to $34.15. It has been a great addition to my tool set, and it has allowed me to diagnose problems with 2 rifle barrels so far. This week the deal got even better. I received a letter in the mail from the seller that offered me a $30 e-Gift card on Amazon if I'd write a review, with no inference or suggestion that it had to be positive. I did that and received the e-Gift card this morning, so my borescope actually only cost me $4.15. I'm still scratching my head on how the seller could justify offering $30 for me to do a review on a borescope that only started out at $39.99. Merry Christmas to me.

The first Teslong bore scope I purchased I used with my Mac and when the wifi version came out being a Apple fan I purchased it to use on my Ipad.
I gave my first Teslong to my grandchildren to play with since I didn't use it anymore but now I can't find a way to print Teslong pics from my Ipad which I could easily do with the Mac .
Have any of you computer geniuses encountered this and if so what did you do about it?
Thanks
Joe
