Telling the wife

We have yours, mine, and ours. As long as there's enough in the ours account, I'm free to do as I like with mine. I don't question what she does with hers. Well, I give her a hard time when more shoes appear at the door. It has worked for nearly 21 years and I don't see any need to change up now.

Same here! Didn't work out so well on my first two attempts at marriage but this time it's been working for 35 plus years.... John

Tell her you bought a new piece of equipment. If she asks about price don't lie to her just tell her it was just over 6 and don't specify it was 6 thousand.

How do you tell your wife you just brought at another machine for the home workshop . That's wasn't cheap at 6k ??

A . Do you tell her over dinner with the back door open for a quick escape .

B . Just put the machine in the workshop and when she asks about it you tell her have had that for years. Havnt you noticed it
In this case buy once cry once DOES NOT apply. Tommy Mc

Picked the new machine up today wnt be back home till tomorrow then the unload and set up time in the cave. This will make cave life easier for me I know that much

We agreed on a budget. When she sees a box on the porch or me carrying a box she might say ""What's that?". I just say "Gun related." Her response is "OK".

She is the epitome of uninterested in the hobby. As long as I don't blow out the budget we've established everything's good.

All my machines make money so its not hard to justify the expense to the wife. Its all a business expense anyways. My problem is space!

Space will be my problem soon enough if I keep adding machines to the cave . But there is another way around I have been offered the use of a bigger workshop if I need to expand anymore but I hope that will be awhile away

One of the best recipes for a divorce is not to discuss matters of finance B4 a purchase of $$$. I oughta know with divorce in my past. You think that buying that expensive piece of equipment is a strain on your finances, wait till you go thru a divorce. You'll lose everything PLUS. You'll end up having to sell all that is near and dear to you. Watch 1/2 of your 401K go up in smoke. LOL!
In the end, it's just not worth it with the toll that it will take on the family and your mental state. Divorce attorneys are notorious in their tactics of revving up the wives and in-laws to become vicious..............Just not worth it. COMMUNICATE!

No, I haven't read all the posts. Hopefully, someone will have detoured you before you have read this post.

Easy… Buy her something she wants.

when I had my machine tools, they were mine and I paid for them, but my hubby got to use them. But I’m a bit of a special case…

it doesn’t have to be similar in cost, just something she wants. So just ask her.
I value HER advice more than ANY Guy's advice! After all, she knows what makes her kind tick! Lol

Well honey, I know it’s kind of expensive but be glad I’m not into racing cars!
Amen!
Hunting, fishing, shooting, rifles, pistols, all combined don't add up to a first year sprint car team. I can tell ya that...and my wife can tell ya too.
Racing automobiles is the most efficient way to transform hard currency into noise.
The wife and I are full disclosure. No secrets, we sleep better that way.

My wife and I have a limit of $500 dollars that we don’t have to talk about it with each other first. If it’s over $500 we have to talk to each other about to first. At times she will tell me we need to cut to back to say $200 or whatever. I buy reloading stuff and she buys whatever and we never say anything other than what is that. I think the most I have spent without telling my wife since we started that was like $200. It’s nice to be in the financial state we can actually do that. When I was still AD Air Force most times every penny was needed to make it.

My wife occasionally happens to be in the area of my gun safe when it's open. She knows it's got less room now than when I originally stocked it. She doesn't ask questions......and that's the way I like it.
