Target-Cam System??

Hi Folks, does anyone have any details on Kirk Roberts' camera viewing system for seeing your target on remote monitor at ranges of 1000yds or more? I have read the article on 6br but would like to know more and how to buy one if it is available.

Taffy,

Here is Kirk's reply to my email sent today to kirknhollie@msn.com :

"I have begun taking orders, and I will offer two systems, here they are:

SYSTEM ONE
*screen/receiver w/battery
*transmitter/camera w/battery
*standard "whip" antennas
*120V AC chargers

500-700 yard range *$700*

SYSTEM TWO
*screen/receiver w/battery
*transmitter/camera w/battery
*2 high gain Yagi directional antennas
*120V AC chargers

1200-1800 + yard range *$1000*

The range estimation is fairly conservative, but with all units that transmit, it relies on the terrain and conditions. If you place the transmitter on a elevated position, you may get well beyond 2000 yards. If you are interested in a unit, it would require a 50% deposit and a 4-6 week build time.

Let me know if you have any questions I haven't answered, and thanks for your continued interest."

Many thanks for the info. Have e-mailed Kirk for some more data/questions.
Is anyone actually using his system yet? I would really welcome any feed back on how effective and how user friendly etc it is.
Having one sent over here to the UK and buying one in the dark so to speak is not ideal. I presume that Kirk's product will do all it says, I would just like to be sure before spending $1000 !!

Cool. This would make 600 yard HP practice a lot easier since one does not need to find another shooter to go with you and alternate pulling and marking targets.

Now, where did I leave $700 lying around.........?

Not a very constructive response :tounge:
Sorry if it doesn't meet your standards, but since you don't pay for the bandwidth I guess you'll just have to deal with it.

Have had a reply from Kirk to-day. All my main concerns seem to be satisfied e.g.
Camera and Transmitter are in weatherproof housings,
15' of cable to raise height of transmitter if required,
x3 Mag on camera protected by 1/4" cover, placed 4-6' from target. Still awaiting FOV for camera,
System One can be upgraded,
System is user friendly in the field.
I have decided to go ahead and buy System One, as soon as I have real world data on the system I will let you know.
If I get a phone # I'll post it here.:)

I have a remote system and we used it over 1200 yds my brother built it, he say's that he used a,yage ant.) ? he is a retired electrical eng. his field was antanns for the US gov. we use a regular tv- 12 volt DC with a video input, we also can put a VCR on it and record it if we want. the parts he used look like the one posted here. but the antanna is totaly diff. If you are interested e-mail me.
