I bought a system a couple of weeks ago and have had it out twice, shooting at 300 yards, no receiver necessary. My first goal was evaluating targets. I cannot see bullet hits on the camera on a black background. Shooting a target with thin lines becomes difficult to see in the rifle scope when mirage starts to pick up. I am going to try and evaluate a target with red rings as used in 300 yard benchrest, or some 600 yard benchrest targets in light blue.
I really like this system for evaluating bullets and loads. I think they tell me more than trying to do tests at 100 yards. I do recommend the Caldwell camera.
