Tack Driver 6

Well, had a good day on the lathe yesterday. i was'nt quite happy
with the last chamber cast, casting numbers, so did some tweaking.
Yeah again, based on the 284 Win case, I did some playing. I gave it
an extra long neck, and the Whitley design reamer, I short stepped,
has a real short free bore, and a tight no turn neck......So the mule
barrel is done, and ready for my 300 pieces of Peterson brass. Cold
temps will let me get that job done quicker, but the problem will be
getting to the range with the drifting snow. Still plenty of time.......
I did come up with a name for my new cat !! ".284-OBX" Anyone care
to guess ??
X has me stumped.

I have a little different issue. About three years ago, I experienced an eruption of wet Macular degeneration in my right eye. I get an injection in the eye every 60 days to keep it under control but that has destroyed a bit of the resolution and light gathering in that eye. So under less that ideal conditions, it is a bit of a handicap although with decent conditions, I can still distinguish the "X" dots on score targets as well. I can see a bit better with the left eye but not enough to overcome the handicap that comes with shooting left handed although I did that for about 6 months after the macular degeneration occurred. But that is not fun.
Joe, I had a right eye issue for a while and was forced to use this set up which worked better for me than learning to shoot left handed... shoot with left eye and an offset scope!IMG_0676.jpg

ransom rest, but I have my Seb on it with a fixed rear currently. The middle comes off once it's pointed where you are trying to hit.

I have a fixed front adjustable rear for it also.

Do you set this up every relay? I see if you remove the connector plate it appears to be legal. The issue I see is the 2 plates appear to weigh 90lbs. Do you use for just testing?

My plan is to have @GlennK set it up for me each relay! But yes, each relay setup, point it as a one piece, remove middle plate. He's really going to hate the new heavy gun lol.

I like it. Did you buy the mount or make it?
They're cheapies I bought off E Bay..45degree with a Picatinny attachment...attach straight to rifle rail...very difficult to get offset rings over here in Australia so this was a temporary solution until my eye was fixed

I gotta get the "Mayor's " stock finished.

Love to see this thread still active and all the “NEW” ideas for this match. Have gotten 3 more people that want to be added to the waiting list in the last 2 days. You guys are amazing and happy you all are choosing “The Tack Driver” as a match you want to attend. It is a humbling moment when you hear many of the vendors and attendees at the Shot Show were even discussing this event! Looking forward to a few more surprises in 2025 and let’s see if it’s a PPC, BRA or possibly a 7mm wildcat that takes top honors this year!
