Tack Driver 6

For me, the trip is roughly 2600 miles, depending on my route choices. It will be longer than that because I'll be driving to my daughter's place, south of Orlando, then back up to Orangeburg from there. I'm attending this because I like the "run what you brung" format and I expect it will be fun. In a very real sense, this match is much like what "F" class started out to be, any rifle, any sight, but fired from a bench rather than the belly. Throw in Halloween, and it's bound to be a good time. WH

We are just under 4 weeks away from the match of the year! We are still full as of today with a field of 140 of the best shooters in the USA! Looking forward to seeing everyone soon and be ready on the "fun" match on Thursday for some really challenging targets!

I drove by Orangeburg on I26 the other day on my way home from 1K Nats in PA, looking forward to shooting my first TD next month !

Had a hiccup in my prep schedule (I'll lose a few days of tuning and practice. A family emergency) but the 308 is coming along. New windshield in the pickup, making tie-down brackets for the camper. Scope still enroute. WH

What time does the fun match start ?? It's not a plan to shoot in it but,
would like to drive down early enough be there and watch the shenanigans !!

That is short!
Our weather has cooled down (it is autumn, after all) so I'm not getting much mirage practice. Sometimes briefly in the afternoon.
The 308 is getting there. Unfortunately, some of the supplies I ordered will not be getting here. With our postal strike going on, I have a thousand bullets and some brass languishing in a warehouse, somewhere. I have a pretty good supply of alternates though, so we'll make it work. Looking forward to a good time. WH

Will, I made it loop like 6 times just for you!

The 308 will help you handle mirage for sure.
Rooting around I found a few pictures (actually in Live mode), when converted to video and spliced together can give an idea of the mirage conditions during practice day TD5 last year. Not good to say the least.
Spotting scope is a Vortex Razor (Gen 1) which is not the best to fight mirage, at 60X.
My scope was trained on Wayne Campbell's practice target (top left groups). Wayne can put them together through any conditions!

A little sneak preview of the Tack Driver 6 shirts and hoodies! Thank you to all the sponsors who make it possible to give these shirts to every competitor! If you happen to do business with any of them or know them personally, please tell them how much you appreciate their contribution to our shooting sport! Thanks, JC
