Swarovski Scopes

Maybe it's just me, but why do we not see, or hear more about these optics? Your positive or negative comments welcome.

Tony.

The Swarovski scopes are much more popular in the UK particularly amongst the Deer stalking (Hunting) community. Until recently, they did not offer a ‘Tactical’ target style scope. The X5 and the X5i scopes have addressed this issue. I’m currently using the X5i on a custom hunting rifle, with the outstanding clarity and Nightforce-esque tactical knobs, it is utterly brilliant. Over here, Swarovski and Nightforce are very similar in price with the latter being more expensive in most circumstances.

Swarovski owns Kahles and they have more scopes on the firing line. The new X5 is really nice. I have one and it performs as good as any. Matt

I hunt whitetails 85 days a year and shoot steel after hunting season. I inquired about the X5 to two knowledgeable long range hunters and they both said it was the best scope that they had used. I bought one and hunted with it for a season and then got more for the rest of my hunting rifles. The low light performance is awesome as is the glare control. The turrets, zero stop, and illumination are all good. The 4wxi reticle is basically the same as an MOAR. I prefer the 3.5x18x50 because of slightly better light transmission and more elevation adjustment. I shoot them regularly to 1200 yards and the tracking is right on. Check out the low light performance test on Long Range Only .com which shows the performance of a group of top tier scopes. Gary

In my non-expert opinion, they are targeted towards the hunting crowd mostly, with some very expensive scopes marketed towards the tactical crowd.

In target shooting, because they don't make the right scope. In hunting, I own two Z3s and a Z5. I think they are about as good as it gets in a light weight scope with a sensible reticle (BRH) and great glass.

(the 3-10x42 only weighs 12 oz, and the Z5 3.5-18 only weighs 16oz)

Thanks for all of the replies. I guess this is where I am undecided. I currently shoot both Leupold (no VX5’S or 6’s) and Nightforce. I have always had great luck with the accuracy and repeatability of the Nightforces, but was interested in possibly going with a lighter scope on my next build. I am just not familiar enough with the reliability of the VX6’s as for as turret twisting goes. I had read a while back where several people were complaining about this with the Leupold, but can’t remember which model or models it was....

I would say the Z6i are in a totally different class. I have ballistic turrets on both of mine. They work well. The glass and low light capability are second to none. I’ve been out deer stalking at last knockins and been able to see deer through the scope (and my Swaro binoculars) when I can’t see anything with the naked eye. My Z6i are both 2.5-15x 56mm. They don’t have the magnification for long distance target shooting but for hunting they’re awesome.

I have a 3.5-18X Z5 w BRH reticle, on a .222 now. Its maybe the best glass I've ever looked thru. I like the very fine lines/stadia.
I use for varmint shooting. very very clear view. quite light & short.

Keep in mind that the Z6's with ballistic turret have limited elevation adjustment due to their design. My 2.5-15x44 Z6 has only 4.6 mils of elevation adjustment. That's good to 750 yards with my rifle, but that's it.

I recently acquired my first Swarovski to put on a custom deer hunting rifle and it is a Z6i 3-18x50

It’s the best scope I own and the best scope I’ve ever looked through.

The only downside was having to explain it to the wife.

Swarovski scopes are the best hunting scopes on the market. I carry them as well as many other brands. If you need some great pricing give me a call 800-720-9625 ask for Sean

I just mounted a X5-I 5x25 on a build and I really really like it, the most positive turrets I have ever twisted, great glass and illumination as good as any out there. they got this scope very right, expensive? the best usually is.

Some day I will own one myself.

My old trad bow friend/mentor..... we shot competition archery together for 30 or so years, may he RIP.He had a gun and bow shop for 40+ years.

He was Swaro dealer...... well, since we don't need optics on our recurves ,it was the binos he had we used to "play with" on the tournament trail. I always thought they were in a class by themselves, that clear. Fantastic products.

I have several Swarovski and Kahles scopes and consider them to be the best optics I've used. I bought the wife a Swarovski binocular and she loves it.
