Suppressor Mount Question

I have been encouraged to purchase a SilencerCo Omega 300 for my hunting rifle. I trust this recommendation, so I really do not want to create a debate about that choice necessarily. But I am curious to know if anyone has a strong opinion on Direct Mount vs Plan B. It will be a dedicated suppressor on a 300 Win Mag. I envision removing the suppressor for transport (to save length) and for cleaning/storage.

I am wondering if the Plan B offers a benefit over Direct Mount from the perspective of potential thread damage during removal/install cycles.

And I am curious if anyone has experienced changes to their zero as a result of removal/install cycles.

Finally, should I consider any type of anti-seize lubricant for the suppressor to rifle interface. I am hoping that hand-tight provides sufficient torque at install.

As always, I appreciate any insights.

As far as your lubrication question, I would ask the manufacturer what they recommend

I have that exact same suppressor. My first one. I have used it on 300 wsm, and a bunch of other rifles. Tames recoil immensely. Poi will change( did for me anyway if shot with/ without). Never tried taking off and then putting back on and checking. I recommend direct thread. And slightly more than hand tight. I use one of those oil filter wrenches with rubber strap. Doesn't mar outside finish. I do highly recommend this one, but admittedly have limited experience with others. Just the way I do it.

I own two of these, you will have a poi shift. I direct thread both and only hand tighten. The only thing I put on the threads is a small amount of oil. I use them on my hunting rifles and competition rifles. I have no complaints!!

I have the SilencerCo 46M, It has the ASR mount system. I like the ASR mount system so that it is easy to use on multiple firearms. I have not had it long enough to give a fair eval in POI shift. I do lube the threads with a small amount lithium grease.

I am a fan of direct thread cans. Have seen some of the quick connect cans get launched with a shot.

AS for suppressor brands they been tested and most are very close to each other as far as how loud they are. So there its just matter of choice.
Some guys like direct thread which is fine but just say you bang up the threads on can or barrel then you screwed.
I wanted a short suppressor that I could put on my AR or bolt guns and usually have 1 or 2 rifles in truck for night calling. I went with the Huxwx Flow through 223 that uses quick-release flash hiders which fit inside the suppressor so no added length. Mine is at about 5 1/2" which I like because I won't chop my good barrels and never will.
The flash hider is as tight as I can get it so no chance of it coming loose. The can uses a left-hand thread, so it doesn't come loose on your rifle either. Just short turn on or off and that's it. I use silver anti-seize on threads or a high temp grease.

I too, have a SiCo Omega. I use it on several rifles and go direct thread. I'm careful to make sure to start threads correctly when screwing onto another rifle. I've taken the Omega on and off hundreds of times. I use high heat anti-seize on the threads. I also hand-tighten. If I understand your "removal/install cycles" question correctly, POI does not change when shooting, removing, and later screwing it back on and shooting again. POI does change if shot with suppressor on, and than taken off, and shot.

I prefer direct thread.
I've had my suppressors off, on 100s of times with no issue's. Just start slowly and lined up. A drop of oil or grease on threads, hand tight only.

I use the Silencer Co. ASR system with great success, do not have to worry about the can getting loose and blowing a shot at a target. Also no point of impact change when removing and putting the can back on.

Last fall I tested another rifle, no out of group shift from reinstalling 300 Harvester direct thread on a sporter barrel. That rifle does have a 2+ poi shift between can and no can. I use copper anti seize hand tight.

I have 2 lane suppressors, direct thread, I use a thread protector on all my barrels, I go between different rifles, 204, 223, 223ai, 22-250, 22cm, 243, 6cm, 6rem, 6.5cm, getting the old m77V 25-06 threaded, 7rem mag. I dont oil except when I clean the rifles I will wipe out the thread protector and threads with some clp. I do clean my suppressors often, inside and out. The direct thread works for me. Hand tight, she dont go nowhere

I have said this many times. Beware of the Silencerco ASR mount or at least learn how to maintain it. I am amazed that they continue to sell something that they KNOW fails. It cost me an endcap on a Hybrid 46. Their customer service basically shrugged their shoulders when I called and did not even replace the endcap. . It could have been worse, but I believe that 46cal hole through the baffles saved me from a baffle impact. I personally won't buy another.

I have 4 Silencerco Omega 300’s. I run ASR muzzle breaks on about 10 different rifles. I used to dedicate a specific 300 to a specific rifle. It doesn’t matter. All 4 300’s will interchange on all 10 rifles and not affect poi.

Not following you here. whats end cap got to do with quick attach??
