Support your NRA

I will not give the NRA credit for allowing our 2nd Amendment to survive. A few years ago, they were more relevant with direct cash payments to legislators. Bribes worked to delay the crush.

Now, the deciding factor is that although most of us will sit back and take most any action against us and continue as usual, the repercussions of serious attacks on our rights will produce action from Patriots, many that don't even NOW know that they also have a red line.

The NRA should be primarily making the statement that it's members don't give a wit what liberals want. We are the side that is well armed, fairly well practiced, and will fight to the death if necessary. The NRA should be taking the lead in useful training and getting members in local areas communicating and working with each other to become even more formidable.

Gentlemen, I don’t see all of the posts due to my judicious use of the ignore feature. Just remember that if you wrestle with pigs, you will get muddy. I’ve spent time on various forums for quite a few years now. It’s a common tactic for liberal types to make smirky comments in hopes of drawing someone to cross the line and break a forum rule. Once that happens they will cry to management to have the post removed, which I believe is often their goal when they get involved in such threads.

So you ignore members to shield yourself from others opinions, then accuse others of being whiney when they further their agendas by going a step farther?

My wife and I are both life members of the NRA. We are both active shooters. Today the NRA is under fire for no real reason. My NRA is about gun safety, education, hunting, and perusing your constitutional RIGHT to bear arms.
The propaganda press and anti gun forces once again are teaming up. They are going after the companies associating with the NRA. The facts of the case not supporting they're argument, but they are going full speed ahead anyway . Don't forget George Soros, Bloomberg, the press and 95% of the liberals are funding this effort. They have billions behind them, we don't. Our 2nd amendment will disappear, if we don't stand together. Please if you can find the time and a few dollars show your support for our gun rights. They will never stop so we can't either. I will refuse to do business with those companies. My dollars will go to the NRA instead.
Thanks for reading my thoughts. Doug

I went from an annual member to a Life member when Obummer was running in hopes of keeping him out,
I went from a life member to an Endowment Life member when he was running a second time, in hopes of keeping him out.....
I went from an Endowment Life member to a Patron member when Hitlary was running, because I damn sure didn't want her in there...... and now,
I guess I have to up it to a Benefactor member to help fight off the stupidity and emotionally based legislation coming at us now......

I guess in the next week or two, I'll be sending in some money. I hope they use it well!

Hi Bob
I did the same thing. I've been a Patron member I believe about a year now. I also told my wife, a Life member herself the same thing "I hope they use the money wisely".

i hope the anti NRA companies end up like the former Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show for trying to ban assault weapons. It is now the NRA show!!!
and Harrisburg Pa lost $80 million that year i hear?

That's good.... it's a good way to push back against the anti's. Before too long, I'll probably be a member of the Second Amendment Foundation and Gun Owners of America too. When I think about the amount of money I spend on firearms, shooting, hunting and all that goes with it, memberships to these organizations is just a drop in the bucket. It makes no sense at all not to be a member, at least to me it doesn't.

What in the world does this mean?

To repeal the 2nd Amendment requires amending the Constitution. Among other paths to repeal, 2/3 of both houses of Congress would have to vote in favor, and then 3/4 of the state legislatures would have to ratify it. I.e., not going to happen anytime soon.

But as wbm pointed out, repeal isn't necessary to gut the 2nd Amendment -- it can be done by the courts. The Supreme Court has already declined to review decisions by lower courts upholding various state bans/restrictions on some semiautos, most recently in November 2017. Will the SCOTUS ever rule that private ownership of AR-15s is protected by the 2nd Amendment? Except for Clarence Thomas, they haven't shown any appetite for it lately. In the absence of such a ruling from the SCOTUS, expect more blue state bans/restrictions on semiautos.

The liberals aren’t going to take the second amendment away, they know it’s too hard of a path to walk down.

I believe they will try to impose restrictions in other forms. Taxes, ammo restrictions things like this.

The back door sneaky approach.

That’s the part that scares me. Sure you can have your guns they’ll say, but they’ll make ammo and reloading supplies so expensive the average guy won’t be able to afford it.

For this if you keeping tabs on this......

The First National Bank of Omaha was one of the first to jump ship. They had an NRA partnered card.

FYI the FNBO is also the bank that supplies Scheels (large gun dealer in Midwest) with their Visa card.

If you are an owner of a Scheels visa, you’re banking with FNBO as well.

FWIW.

I have come to a conclusion that liberals are “incrementalists”, little by little. No matter what they’re twisted cause. They have a goal to take away all guns. They pass ever encroaching laws to achieve the ultimate objective. They realize that it cannot be done all at once. ie Waiting periods, taxes, mag bans, multiple purchases, trying for semiautomatic, smart guns etc.
It will never end for them, because they haven’t reached their goal.
Ok you are allowed to own a muzzle loader, but their EPA will ban black powder and lead balls, because of pollution.
Stand your ground now before it’s too late.
