NRA Support Thread

Scheels card is through Omaha. I wonder who we can talk to there to get them to switch.....

Or I guess I get rid of it on my own.
I just found that out when I went to pay my bill. I will be cutting it up today just after I use it to double up on my NRA dues

There will be many losers in this one. The state of Georgia needed to pass the tax break bill to be able to stay competitive as an international hub for commerce.

It was a Delta Airlines only tax break. None of the other airlines flying out of Two Dead Mayor's airport would have gotten the tax break.

Delta happens to be their major player, in more than one way. New York and Virginia are already offering incentives to Delta to move their headquarters to their state. It's not smart to bite the hand that feeds you.

Delta will not move. That's a talking head's pipe dream. Delta has spent millions on their gates and facilities at Hartsfield. They will not move from that to nothing.

But since most of the Republicans in the Georgia Legislature are cronie capitalist, there probably is an understanding between Delta and them that Delta will get the tax break in 2019. It's all Kabuki Theater.

For the most part all the Republicans (used to be Democrats) have caved to the liberal left at the drop of a hat. Since it is an election year, there is a lot of posturing.

The only thing Delta did was to stop offering a discount. American Airlines, Southwest, US Airways, British Airways, JetBlue, and Alaska Airlines don't offer us an NRA discount.

Delta's move was the last straw for conservatives in Georgia. They, through their hugh lobbying resources, have sided with the liberal left (gay activists) and blocked bills, among other things, that protects Christians and other people of faith. If the left doesn't like it Delta is on their side regardless of the issue. It's about time somebody got some cajones and slapped Delta upside the head.

I did some research about Georgia's economy and the economic impact Delta has on their economy. Pretty mind boggling. Evidently, Atlanta's economy is inextricably tied to Delta's massive hub. The dollar amount is massive, and they employ tens of thousands of people in the state.

We will see if Georgia's politicians have the balls to stick with this stance for the long run.

Fed Ex is not "standing with the NRA" just because they didn't revoke some chicken shit discount they are giving to NRA members. They just said they are not making business decisions based on their customer's political beliefs. They then issued a statement saying they are against AR15's and think they should be banned. They are not pro NRA. They are not pro gun. They are pro profit.

Wow! Thanks for that info! I wonder what UPS has to say? Also, what about the cable and satellite companies? Where are they with the NRA?

Some of what has gone down has left me a bit conflicted as I've thought it through, and the worst part (makes me want to puke a little in my mouth) is that I kind of see this ^^^^ guys point on the above... These are companies (the ones now dropping ties with the NRA) that once supported the NRA, or at least treated them fairly. I suspect that this was never a controversy free decision to do so. I sure hope that we (I) don't pull our money and business ties from one of the these companies and then put it into a company that NEVER supported or associated with the NRA in the first place, into a company that, perhaps supports the enemies of the NRA . Not saying that these guys current cowardice in the face of turning public pressure is acceptable. Not saying that they should be rewarded for this. Hence why I am conflicted, I guess.

The question I have, and maybe it should be it's own thread: Who is still standing with the NRA? Which companies never left them? Are any new companies now deciding to step in and support them? This is what I really want to know. Less about about where not to spend $$$, because quite frankly, there are too many to keep track of, and more about who I can support and reward for standing with us.

Thank you for bringing this up. I read about it the other day and am not exactly sure how I feel about this either. FedEx is definitely not our friend. I appreciate that they are 'pro profit' enough to make this call and to publicly acknowledge that it would be discrimination to "deny service or discriminate against a legal entity regardless of their policy positions or political views". Had they left it at that, they would have earned my respect, but they didn't... They then had to make it a point spew out their crappy anti-second-ammendment political views. Why do companies have to do this? Who's views are they really? The CEO's? The share-holders? I doubt this represents the view of all of the employees that work there, or of all the shareholders holding stock in their 401K plans. Did they do a corporate survey about this? Doubt it? Why can't a corporation just be professional, a-political, pro-profit and keep their nose out of this stuff?

Let’s be clear, the reason the myriad of otherwise non political vendors are jumping ship is because of our idiot in chief. A New York draft dodger, scam artist is our president and regular business folks see that they can get advantage by piling onto the latest trend.

We did this to ourselves I think
Our response should be “let’s focus on safety”
We may have to abandon the “automatic weapon ideal” that we understand is meaningless from a mechanical definition.
I don’t know the answer and may be wrong, if so I apologize.

With all due respect I believe that you are wrong on several counts.

Maybe you should read this from another recent thread. It’s pretty thought provoking and probably explains how more of us feel than you can imagine!

After I got my lifetime membership paid for, I got my son a lifetime membership. After that I started paying toward my wifes lifetime membership. I will keep this going til the whole family is at the highest membership level possible. To me it is more than fight for our gun rights. It is a war against the liberal socialist movement.

The companies that have shunned the NRA don’t care for Constitutional and fundamental rights. Public opinion (or their perceptions as to what the public opinion is) seems to take precedence over one of our greatest special interest groups in our country — The NRA. Without the NRA our Constitution would be eroded to the point of being just a historical document.

Liberals, socialists, and all other anti-Americans will go to extremes to discredit and vilify the NRA and all its supporters. Why do they hate an organization that strives to protect our constitution? To disempower and discredit the NRA would make it much easier for the activists work in seeking abolition of the 2nd Amendment and all it protects. Folks, this is the reason that liberals hate the NRA and seek to destroy it. It has nothing to do with stopping mass shootings. Motor Vehicle Accident (mva) claim the lives of innocent civilians daily Across our nation...causing many more deaths and injuries than firearm related causes. How many mva’s will occur tomorrow claiming innocent lives and injuring others? I only bring up mva's because they are a leading cause of death for some populations.

Our Constitution is being attacked. Without violating our individual rights and our Constitution by interfering with the individual right to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the Constitution and made applicable to each Individual State by the 14th Amendment, our country can be strong and united in finding effective solutions to preventing school shootings and other mass shootings.
