Sub .5 MOA --- "ALL DAY LONG"!!

Popped up to my range last night to try these Speer 32 GR. (more or less) bullets that I got dirt cheap. They had grouped for me at pretty much 1MOA with a jump of .020". These loads were in the lands .010" longer than "touch". As you can see, results were mediocre.

The other groups you see there are with 32GR V-Max, and a load of BLC-2 that always shoots consistently. (23 GR) I give them a .010 jump to touch length.

I shot those five groups trying different holds from free recoil, to very hard. Conditions were pretty good for shooting with maybe a 5 MPH cross wind gusts. Barrel was "unclean", with well over fifty, and perhaps as many as a hundred shots since last cleaning.

I know these aren't bragging sized groups, but what they are, is quickly loaded, metered charges, unsorted brass of dubious age and heritage. They are primarily squirrel loads which I don't want to waste a lot of time on. They seem very consistent with disregard to barrel temp, shooting technique, brass quality, etc.. Basically the type of reload which I'll burn a few hundred of in an afternoon of squirrel shooting.

I think I can say honestly, that they shoot dime sized groups "ALL DAY LONG". (if I do my part) :p jd

Maybe shorten the name to 202 Remington? :)

I like it. Maybe we can make it legal.
As far as the 20 cals go, I've gotta brag on this one for ease of conversion and economy of brass. I'm using the same skanky old brass that has been fired in my 222 for God only knows how many times. I've never annealed a case in my life, and very seldom encounter a failure.

I'm full length sizing with a Redding Bushing die now, and expanding necks with my Lee Universal De-capper. It's decapping rod measures .2025". Works perfect for neck expansion on the 20's. (There's a free Okie trick for you 20 cal reloaders:rolleyes:)

I've been thinking about getting a custom full length die made for my chamber, -- but dunno yet. jd

okies get around eh?

Nice shooting JD. That should make them little squirrels pop. Someday I have to come visit and you can show me how to shoot. I like your approach.

Well buddy, as sometimes happens around here, we are having a couple of weeks of gorgeous weather, and the squirrels are popping up like mushrooms.

I headed out to one of my close spots about three PM and burned up a box of fifty of my V-Max loads. The place where I set up gave me 200 or less yards to shoot. There is a pipe laying on the ground at 130 or so, and I made myself shoot at everything beyond it. After I saw how easy it was, I started taking many head shots. I think I had only six misses out of fifty shots. This was with my bench and bags.

I like the Vortex Viper I've put on the rifle, and tomorrow I'm gonna set up for longer range. I'm happy with the power range I'm currently loading, and don't feel the need to jack things up. These little buggers mostly look like they've been killed by a grenade. jd

Oh, I get it, you just kept shooting at that 12 shot target hoping it would get smaller. :D:D
:p:p:p Dang it!! It didn't work.

I guess I was hoping that I'd see a cluster of tighter shots with a low percentage of flyers. But-- they're pretty much all over the board.:( jd

Sounds like you are having as much fun as I am with my .20 Practical.
It would be easier if my job didn't keep getting the way.

I've got about four different jugs of powder here, ummm -- Benchmark, 8208, RL15, H335, -- that I haven't even tried yet just because I haven't had time to get out and test them. jd
