Strange AR. Has anybody seen this?

While on the subject of odd/weird AR types, there is the Dissipator. 16-1/4” carbine barrel and gas block, with full length forearm. The front sight base only retains the hand guard shield and sight post. Both shown below.

A fake Dissipator uses a 20” barrel cut down too 16-1/4” and used the standard 20” gas port location which only works reliably with certain gunpowders as the dwell time of the bullet in the barrel is to short to reliably cycle the BCG because the gas port is too close too the muzzle.

Is it a DPMS Tuber?

Looks like one of many ways to reduce heat signature from an AR., And to alter barrel harmonics by changing barrel contact points, and adding mass to reduce muzzle climb.

That could be really cool with a suppressor; but it would need some careful planning and wrenching.
Far simpler to start with a new upper; and get the suppressor practice / experience. ARs aren't any more sensitive to Suppressors than other direct impingement semi-autos / autos; it's a matter of balancing back pressure. Many attempt to mitigate it with a gas block, to delay when the bolt opens; there are other ways; there are low-back pressure cans too. At least this is my understanding, I don't have first hand experience, yet.
