Store Brand Rifles from 50's, 60's, Wards, Western Auto, etc.

Have a Sears 30-06 made by husqvarna. Awesome rifle, light as a rem 700 mountain.
I have a Husqvarna Crown 3000 30-06 that my dad bought overseas in the late 50's when he was in the Airforce. Its most accurate production rifle I have ever seen, it just loves to shoot tight groups.

I still have an old Sears 22, single shot that my father bought me so I would't continue destroying his Revelation 22 semi. I also have his Noble 12 gauge pump.

I've got an old Bluegrass dbl bbl sold by Bluegrass Hardware, in Louisville, Ky. I think it was made by Crescent Arms.

It is easy to find out. Simply take off one's shirt, put on a muscle _T, take a couple high brass #4 and a beer can to the yard. Slap ol' Bessie up fast and light off two. Inspect armpit. If it is purple and angry, with divots and stings like a herd of hornets set down on it, it is in fact a Crescent Arms....

You have not lived unless you were a little Kid who had a Sears ( J C Higgins ) Semi-Auto. 22 and went to show it to the other Kids . And you should have seen their eyes pop out when you pulled out that bright red cloth Sling out of the Butt Stock , attached it to the front end and slung it over your shoulder . Those were the good old days !

I bet that was pretty cool. You Da Man!! I wasn't so lucky though, because my Dad laid down the law.

After I had done enough shooting with him to where he considered me "safe", he told me, "You can go shooting by yourself now, but ONLY by yourself. If I catch you, or hear of you shooting with any of your buddies, you won't have that rifle any more."

I knew that he meant it, and I followed his orders rather than lose that rifle. It meant more to me than anything I owned, or any of my buddies. jd

JDS , guess what ? After that 22 was long gone ( lake maybe 40 yrs. ) , I picked up its Twin in near new Condition .....Red Sling and all . In the interim , I picked up a JC Higgins marked Weaver 22 Scope ( the one that had some external Brass Parts as I recall ) . Unfortunately I thought I would never find a nice Twin 22 , so I sold it .
