Stock trouble

I think i would try to do the inlet and see how it fits as is. Think about all the old rifles where the wood has shrunk so much that the hole around the stock bolt is super sloppy but the stock is still tight.
Walt is right you could drill it bigger(do NOT use a twist drill bit, it will tear things apart) and you could wrap the tube our our back with a couple layers of tape and bed around the hole. You'll know it's there but no-one else will. Sorry it's turning into a cluster for you.
I am just going to wait when it comes back I’ll proceed with the final finishing if all works out great if not I’ll go from there. Again I am not bashing CPA rifles none of us are perfect I just wanted to know what the thoughts were on doweling and re-drilling and it is a nice piece of lumber thanks again for the in put. I’ll post some pictures when I am finished

For what it's worth, this thread may offer some ideas on putting a pillar in there. -Al

I have requested a new stock or a refund. If you look at the one pic where the stock is on the gun if it is doweled and re-drilled that will move the stock over to the right I can take more off the left but that is going to leave quite a gap on the right so now have to wait and see. In the mean time has anyone used Macon gun stocks ? Again thanks for the help

Has anyone else delt with CPA for replacement stocks ? This is the first stock I have tried to do my self so when it first arrived I didn’t think much about it but now it isn’t going to work I called CPA they said to send it back and they would pound a doll rod and re-drill the hole was told it would be worked on right away well now it’s going to be at least a week and if that doesn’t work they will make a new one my question is why would you even send this out ? Should I just say hey make a new one.

Forum Boss: I believe he may be referring to CPA Rifles
