Perazzi O/U MX3 trigger trouble....

My cousin mentioned he had an old shotgun that “didn’t work”. Wanting to help, I told him I’d take a look at it. He dropped it off today. I pulled it apart and found it was missing a pin near the safety. I replaced the pin and it works fine now. Then I did some more research. My cousin mentioned that the gun would sometimes fire both barrels at once. The research said it could be a worn sear or a weak spring. Both issues are fixable, except I’m not “the guy” to start honing a trigger sear. I’ve never done it and I don’t want to try learning on my cousin’s nice shotgun.
Does anybody know a guy that works on Perazzi triggers?

Thanks in advance!
Josh

The problems I've seen in those triggers and worn sears including wear on the disconnector tree, Disconnector problems and worn cocking systems leaving the sear not dropping all the way down into the notch. And also pieces of loose shot stopping the cocking system from full engagement.

Give Don Rackley a call. 972 839-0205. He has done work on Perazzi triggers for me and does excellent work. The MX 3 should be a drop out trigger, so just send the triggers. Quick turn around and reasonable prices.

Don is a great guy and knows his stuff. I have know him for a looong time.

The MX 3 trigger is the same trigger as an MX 8, Mirage, and an MX whatever. The MX3 combo set was a top single and the trigger is set up to shoot top barrel first, instead of supplying 2 trigger sets. The open choke on the o/u barrel was the top. Dan Bonillas shot one very well for many years.
