Step out of your comfort zone

Now that's funny I don't care who you are that means I can use my pulled bullets.
I'm not sure what you're saying Stan. My post was to Jimmymac, who I quoted, regarding maintaining tune with a tuner being much easier to learn than keeping up with n133's manic tendencies.

Just wondering if you had issues with different lots of 133 or temp issues. I've been buying it in eight pound jugs and use it in .223, 20P and 17 fireball and haven't noticed any variations in performance or accuracy. Which cartridge(s) were you using it?

6ppc specifically, in br rifles. All powders change with conditions but 133 more so than most. You have to learn to keep up with those changes if you use it.

The best br shooters are who they are for a number of reasons but not least of which, is understanding what to do and when, in regard to powder charges during a match.

I've heard it said that as many as 3/4 of the guns at any given match are not in tune for a full match. I've seen it many times.
Tuners level the playing field in this regard.

only if they know how to use them.
True enough but tuners are super easy. If we start with a known good gun and load, I can teach a 10 year old how to use a tuner in 15 minutes. Same goes for anyone that starts off without any preconceived ill notions about how they should be used....like grabbing it and twisting randomly and without being methodical. There are two mistakes that are common. One is moving a tuner too far and the other is moving it too often.

Funny you mention that. Have you had trouble getting ahold of some of these custom bullet makers? I can't get an email response from Vapor Trail to save my life. Couldnt get an answer on the phone either. Wanting to try some of his 30 cal 207gr but if its going to be this much of a hassle getting my hands on those projectiles its not worth it. Got enough hassles finding other reloading components as it is. Wish Vapor Trail would line up with a reliable mainstream distributor like Midway or Midsouth to take the PITA factor out of getting my hands on them.

Sorry Brandon

I was just informed of this post, I get quite a few emails each day, and huge amount of phone calls.
Sometimes some slip through the cracks, I apologize for yours being one of them, please send it again with a contact number and a good time to get in touch with ya.

Yea there is some guy over a benchrest central who is doing just like you said. I guess he wanted a 30 caliber rifle to shoot score, and he is doing it with a 30/30. I would have never thought a 30/30 would shoot but his does.

I met a guy at a local range doing this very thing close to ten years ago. He said he did it because the HBR rule stated that the minimum case capacity was that of a 30-30, and then stated a volume. His idea was that he could use the smallest volume 30-30 case and a tight chamber and be under the “legal” case volume without being in violation of the rule because it most certainly was a 30-30. Whether case volume really matters I can’t say, but the man was shooting well.

I fell out of the comfort zone when I found this site. So much info and so many different directions to go. I shot Service Rifle for 14 years and never thought of a different avenue. Thanks to this site I cobbled together a 6br. Remember 700, Savage 12 6br barrel and a tuned trigger. Was so amazed that I now have 2 other full on custom 6br's.
