State by State Chart of Income Needed for Living

Don’t misunderstand my point, I don’t care how much money someone else has or spends, that’s not my thought, I’m a republican that believes in hard work and earning a living, I dont ask for handouts. I don’t blame others for shit I created myself.
Tell us how you created the current mess. Did you vote for the current state of affairs? Are you one of those people who say: I don't mind paying a little more?

By the way, the cost of living in WA in certain metro areas is grossly underestimated by that map. In larger metro areas the median price of homes is approaching 1 million dollars. The income required to support that is 3 to 4 times the 106k listed. I suspect that is the case for many states in the rest of the map. Factoring in unpopulated counties where homes can't be given away grossly skews the data and renders it effectively meaningless.

I bought our home in 2002 for $35k. 1800sqr foot. We did some remodeling, did it ourself. Put in heatpump for less than $1800 myself everything included.
Wife teaches school, not the best paying job. I worked from ground up starting in the field making $10/hour and we still was able to afford home, car, food, etc. That was years ago. I now make 4x what I did in 2002 and still live the same way. My truck is 21 years old. No way I can afford a new vehicle. I paid $7 for a gallon of milk the other day...

I was better off 5 years ago than I am now... only thing that has changed is the presdo idiot we have now....
