I just bought 1000 Fiochhi for 25.6 cents each shipped. I've been weighing the option of loading for them. I have almost nothing in the way of components or a press other than a single stage.

At current prices, you can load for $0.22 each with quality fmj or jhp. You save a little $$ but mostly you get better quality ammo.

$0.10 primer
$0.10 115gr fmj Delta Precision ($0.11 for 124gr jhp)
$0.02 powder

You can save even more if you use coated bullets from Blue Bullets, down around $0.19 each. Save even more, down to $0.17 each if you also buy Ginex etc primers in 5k bulk.

All this at today's crazy prices and includes shipping.

At that price it’s probably not worth loading for the 9, but I enjoy it a little bit. I load mine on the newer Lyman American turret press, it’s still slow but enjoyable to do 50 rounds in the evening.

I never thought I would but I’m going to start loading for my 9s. I’ve always used factory rounds because they were so cheap. I’m down to 600 rounds and don’t want to burn them up in practice. I have 1000 plated 124 grain HP on the way. I have plenty of 231, Unique and AutoComp on hand but was wondering what the favorite powders are of guys that reload them.

I started about 1 1/2 yrs. ago. still had factory rounds but wasn't going to pay the price replace as they were used. had 40k primers enough powders. bullets are cheap enough for 9 mm.....
