I'm sure you know this, but the 9mm is a tapered case. With a carbide die, lube isn't required, but sizing will be immensely easier if you lightly lube them. And it can keep the case from starting to pick brass and galling which leaves marks on the case.but I’m going to start loading for my 9s
Are you sure you wanna bend over to search for brass at this point. I went to revolvers for that reason. i got one of those cage gizmos brass pickerupers but didnt work where i shoot. i am thinking about getting the 1911s out again thoughI never thought I would but I’m going to start loading for my 9s. I’ve always used factory rounds because they were so cheap. I’m down to 600 rounds and don’t want to burn them up in practice. I have 1000 plated 124 grain HP on the way. I have plenty of 231, Unique and AutoComp on hand but was wondering what the favorite powders are of guys that reload them.
Thanks in advance.
Josh
I'd also recommend a Lee factory crimp die, it'll crimp and post-size to ensure smooth feeding. 9 tends to get various case bulges that this die irons out.If you need some brass, I can mail it to you. Just PM me your address
You did me a favor not too long ago and I'd like to do the same.
well sometimes i dont have a choice / the back just doesnt work- i did pick up a five gallon bucket plus of 9mm though.Yup! Bending over is getting harder! When the day comes that I think it’s too hard to pick up nickels lying on the ground.....throw some dirt on me cause I’ll be dead!
My POI changed while shooting that test group off a bench with sand bags.Nice shooting Dog! YO!
Are you by chance left handed? I tend to push my groups to the right with all my pistols.
Put, a 9' x 9' Tarp on the Ground with, the edges rolled,.. inward or, propped, up with sticks, to catch, the Cases !Are you sure you wanna bend over to search for brass at this point. 9 MM "Plinker ammo", is DOUBLE the Price I paid,.. 2+ years ago,.. BUT,. IT's,.. available !https://www.brownells.com/ammunition/handgun-ammo/blazer-brass-9mm-luger-ammo-prod43036.aspx
Ammo may be coming down just a little but still plenty high.
My grand daughter took my tarp for painting. (Artistic) Not painting walls like I need in my loading room! My range let's you pick up brass after matches. It is usually as good of condition as what I already shoot.Put, a 9' x 9' Tarp on the Ground with, the edges rolled,.. inward or, propped, up with sticks, to catch, the Cases !
Works great, after, adjusting the Tarp a bit,.. after, the first couple of, Shots !
Just some "chit' you Learn, when you get,.. Older !
