Starline and Peterson 6br brass coming

That was about as cheap as I could find it Jim. Bruno was sold out. So were several other places. If you have good source for cheap Lapua BR brass, I'm all ears.
Brunos, has 6BR back in stock for $85. Jimmymack, I believe you've been in this short range BR just long enough to imagine some kind of opinion, LOL! Sorry I couldn't help myself. You can't argue with over 50 yrs. of experience. MHOP!

Other than the Bruno’s part, I have no idea what you just said to me. I’m still trying to figure out what leads to a 32% attrition rate. Now I’m also trying to figure out where a local MHOP is so I can go to breakfast before work. :D

Sir
Could you please share your sorting process for your brass? If it is info. that you have learned over the years that has given you an edge in comp and don't want to share it with the masses i totally understand. Thanks for being here......

Best Regards
Rick

Rick, I neck turn, trim, fireform, and then prep brass before weight sorting. After weight sorting I then sort by concentricity. I fireform a second time and then I do a final neck turn clean up and check concentricity one more time. This final neck turn cut is .0003"-.0005", that's ten thousands. This process seems to weed out those cases that have unusual neck tension. Maybe I'm being too picky and doing a lot of extra work and extra culling but it seems to help in my opinion.

I'm very interested in hearing members' experiences & opinions of both Peterson & Starline brass. I've not bought any of the Peterson yet, but did purchase 250pcs of Starline 6.5 Grendel to be necked down for a .224 Grendel I'm building. All my previous Grendel brass for 6RAT rifles has come from AA when they were still selling Lapua Grendel at a bargain price. I also have PRS-style rifles in 6.5-08 Improved 30*, and 7-08 Imp 30*, and would like to try some of both these brands of brass. Have used Lapua 260 brass, but my reamer's neck dia requires these cases to be neck-turned, and I'd just as soon pass on needing to do that. To date, all my 7-08 Imp 30* brass has been fireformed WW. No real issues with any of it, but wouldn't mind buying something a little more uniform, and with a good, tough casehead.

What do you think of the Starline 6.5 Grendel brass?

I haven't done anything with the Grendel brass from Starline yet. Still waiting on the reamer for the 224 Grendel, and a Krieger bbl to use it on. Also haven't found anywhere that has Redding 6.5 Grendel bushing FL die in stock.

Starline didn't have anything posted for shot show, or I missed it. Petersen had it in print. I'm about to order a reamer, I would like to know how it measures.

It will be interesting to see if Starline anneals their 6BR brass. If you go to their URL and read FAQ4, they came up with a statement that different applications, in this case, for my .45-2.6" brass (aka .45-200) were such that they could not do annealing. They evidently think that there are lots of guys out there shooting smokeless .45-100's. at high pressure...
Such BS!

Just curious, why would anyone want to use anything other than Lapua for a parent case whenever possible? Is this just the lack of inventory or people looking for a better product?

A second to do this posted above by LCazador:

You're not making this any easier for the rest of us! On the other hand, I can lighten up on the self criticism of being too anal! Thanks, I think, for raising the bar.

Where to purchase Starline 6br brass?

6BR is not on their site yet, so I doubt it's actually available yet.

As to where, I've bought directly from Starline before (32S&W Long - hard to find.) Ships quick, or perhaps I should say it did when I ordered.
