If you have a chance, get some of those 3" Birchwood Casey Orange Target spots:

I am able to clearly see the diamond in the center of the 3" target spot with a 25x Leupold LRT at 600 yards. The 3" is the biggest size shown,far right) in the photo. On the 2", at 600, I can see a black center but I can't make out the diamond shape clearly.

That would be a good threshold test for your Weaver.

Hans, I've found these at Big 5, Turners, and Walmart as well as most gunshops. The 3" is the same size as the F-Class X-Ring now for 600.
